Awesome food, awesome vibe. Too bad they don't serve beer like they did at their place in Penngrove which, sadly, had closed, perhaps permanently, due to a fire in the old building in which they were situated.

Food = good. Service = ok. They're a busy place, and even with multiple waitstaff, just kind of ignored us even though we were sitting right at the counter. The burger was flavorful, the bread nice and firm, the BBQ sauce added a nice touch of sauce. The food came out in a decent amount of time. We also ordered onion rings and milkshakes, but we got full, fast. They serve the shakes in the metal cups, with a spoon and straw, and there was enough in the cup for two full milkshake servings. I'd go back, but I would like to see better service. Better service would get them a 4 star rating from me.

Hands down, one of the best burgers i've had in a long time. Super juicy & cooked to perfection! The onion rings were amazing.. as well as the shakes! The chocolate peanutbutter shake.. to die for. Literally. Lol It's alot of food, so definitely come here on an empty stomach Service here is great, i cant wait to come back!!!

When my belly is begging for ground beef on a bun I ask myself one question... UM-AM-I willing to drive to the city and shell out $12+ for a mediocre burger? The answer is a resounding NO! I'd MUCH rather get a truly SUPERBURGER! (And the name doesn't even do them justice!) Try my favorite, the McDonald Avenue- for the most ah-may-zing "gartichoke" sauce. (Town and Country your burger for a slightly smaller, lower cost option that leaves room for fries or tots.) Or go for the Spring Street, Lahaina or chili burger... You honestly can't go wrong! #fatgirlsnax approved!

A MUST TRY!!!!! This wonderful place has a great selection of delicious food. They have local grass fed beef opinions. Which is always a plus in my book! And their homemade milkshakes are TO DIE FOR!!!!! everytime I go, my husband and I have to get the Chili cheese fries. Their chili is homemade as well. They have indoor and outdoor seating. All in all a great dive!

I love its location, its vibe, its creative and plentiful offerings. Sadly, the food was just average. I had ordered the McDonald Avenue while husband ordered the lamb cheeseburger. The best part of the McDonald was its creamy, blue cheese sauce. Otherwise, the burger could have been your typical overpriced fair food that leaves you feeling disgusted after eating. Husband's lamb was bland and dry. And the fries. OH, THE FRIES! They tasted fresh. Fresh out of a frozen fry bag at the Smart & Final clearance freezer.

...found that good ol' well done burger. Ordered the half fries, half onion rings. // Luckily it wasn't extremely busy (no wait) so maybe that's why we were served super fast. Still yet to try the shake. Can't wait to come again!!

We had eaten here more then a few times. This last time was just "blah". My daughter and I ordered: *Kids hotdog with fries *Cheese burger with bacon (Medium Rare) *2 sodas 1. My child, like any other child, is clumsy. Logically, when you give any child a drink it should have a lid. Neither of our sodas came with a lid. When asked for a lid one of the young girls handed it over and left. It was the wrong lid so we had to ask for another. She seemed pretty annoyed. 2. My daughter said her hot dog tasted funny and didn't like the hamburger bun being used for a hot dog. She only took 3 bites and said no. 3. My medium rare burger was rare and still mooing. I choked down about 4 bites and that was all I could handle. We paid and left our meals barely touched. We have enjoyed having our Mommy/daughter meals here before but not this time. The milk shakes are pretty good tho.

I remember I used to fangirl over Superburger to the point of hissing at anyone who suggested there was a better burger joint in Santa Rosa, but alas - times have changed. The grass-fed beef used to always be a beautiful pink, the cheese melted, the bun toasted, the waitresses cheery and attentive. All these things were what put the "Super" in Superburger. It took me four last visits before I decided I would never waste my money on such mediocrity again. Firstly, I actually felt like an inconvenience because of how neglected I was by the server assigned to me. Secondly, I asked for a little bit of pink and got a burned hockey puck instead. The garlic spread on the burger was colder than the dark side of the moon, the buns also untoasted and cold, and the meat was overworked and very chewy (also cold of course). This quality was consistent in my last few visits, and seriously broke my heart. I will remember you, as you were, when we were young and happy. I can't just chalk it up to a bad day anymore when I tried so hard to make it work again the last few times... Goodbye, Superburger.

Really good bacon cheeseburger!! Onion ring and fries combo was tasty and shared by the three of us. Chili cheeseburger was good as well. Service was excellent and they gave us peppercinis and jalapeños to add to our burgers!! Sadly we did not order a classic milkshake which are fabulous!! Next time. So the food was tasty and the company great! Nice Presidents' Day!! One thing to note, is that if you have ADA issues, the restroom may take some assistance. Totally clean but tiny!!

  • Gretchen G.

First off they have crushed ice! They have a wide selection of shakes, we tried the Carmel and coconut which were both amazing! Great service everyone was super friendly! The food was fantastic! It was not cheap though, for a family of five it was about $80 but worth every penny! I wish I would have been hungover that would have made it even better!

I've driven by hundreds of times as I live in Rincon Valley. I was meeting a friend for lunch and we ended up at Super Burger by his recommendation. Simply a great simple burger joint. I had the bacon cheeseburger and it couldn't have been better, I declined their "special sauce", and went with the usual condiments. Their buns are excellent and a great compliment to their burgers. The place is small and can really busy, so be cool and don't get in a hurry. The burgers are huge, I didn't even opt for a side and had plenty of food.

  • Karen C.

I have to say after all the hype I was expecting more. Since some people swear its just that good, and my daughter said the one she had in the past was awesome compared to this one, I will try again to see if her burger pick is better. The food we got was just average. Nothing bad but other than a shake nothing that stood out. The place was crazy busy though so they must be doing something right. My critique would be that the Almond Joy tastes more like a Marzipan. Nothing coconut about the taste just all almond. I like both so it wasn't bad just saying not Almond Joy flavor.

The burgers here are amazing. Grilled with just a hint of smokiness and so many types of burgers. I'm a big fan of their Spring St. burger. Plus, fabulous milkshakes and a great atmosphere

I'm a big fan of Superburger and have been for years. Living around the corner, I probably eat it a few times a month. I'm not sure when the new owner, Bill, took over, but he's not changed a thing about the place (that's a good thing). My order usually consist of the Montecito Burger - a burger with bacon, jack cheese, their BBQ sauce, and guacamole. The burger is almost always excellent. One time they put cheddar on instead of jack and rarely the burger is overcooked. Many times they cook the burger a perfect medium. The fries a good, not amazing, but worth having. I personally prefer the sweet potato fries and onion rings. Shakes are probably some of the best in the city, and extremely filling.

  • Camille H.

I'm glad I opened my VIA magazine last week. The lamb cheeseburger with jack cheese was amazing!!! There was so much flavor to it. The service was excellent!! I am going to bring a few friends next visit. I have 2 classes that day( 10am-9pm), and I needed some protein before my night class. I ordered an ice tea too. Great service, and amazing flavor to their food. Yummmmm!!!

So good. Great service. A little pricey but worth it. Definitely one of my favorite spots in town. I love that it still has a traditional old town feel.

Ok first the place is small and does not have table seating it all seating via a u shaped counter! The burgers are amazing the child burger I had was made with great tasting homemade chili, and a burger cooked till perfection! I was half way done with my burger and it was still steaming! When you ate it the burger had a chrispness to that was great! My mom had the Montecito Burger and she said it was awesome. I loved having table side pickles and such because I am a huge pickle freak and never seem to get enough! I loved the counter seating as it felt like you were back at a diner and not a restaurant! We split the onion and french fry basket which was awesome, the onion rings were tasty and they didn't fall apart when you bit into them. The french fries, not greasy or oily or cold, hot!! This place is well worth the wait for a seat!! This place is for the people who love good old fashioned burgers better than the old Heavenly Hamburgers of HWY 12 and Bennett Valley locations. Have yet to try Phyills (sp) on Hwy 12 but I will go back to Superburger again! Next time will be a burger a simple burger! I got the idea from a friend on Facebook and this did not disappoint!! Thanks Tim!!

Meh, is what I have to say about the burgers and fries. Everything was properly cooked, it was just not doing it for me. The atmosphere is cute, with the 1950's stools and really cool looking milkshake machine. The fries and tatertots were disappointing.I swear they were Ore-Ida, but just fried crispier. The burgers were big and juicy, with barbeque sauce slathered on a very plain tasting bun. I think the reason people have such a love affair with this place is that you can add additional toppings to your burger like onion rings. I wasn't that adventurous, so maybe that's why I was disappointed. I guess if I ever go back, I would definitely order a milkshake. Superburger has a long list of shakes and they sure did look amazing. I was actually too full to try one, because my unfinished burger and half eaten tatertots had filled me up.

  • Alex O.

Right now one of the best burgers in the county. I would of gave them a five if they had fresh made fries. Over all pretty good.

  • James N.

I have not had a bad burger here, I don't think the fries are anything special but the burgers have been consistantly tasty over the years.

Arrived at lunchtime. Ordered three burgers to go and took 1/2 hr to get our order. I ordered the McDonald Avenue burger (mushrooms and gorgonzola). Enjoyed it, but wouldn't get it again. Onion rings are delicious.

  • Rick B.

Unbelievably good burger (the Montecito), but a really unattentive waitstaff and VERY slow. Took me a good 20 minutes just to get the burger. And no one checked on how I was doing until I was on my last bite. (Luckily, it didn't matter.)

Amazing. This place doesn't look as much on the outside but it's what inside that counts. I was on vacation to the Bay Area and stopped by this joint because I've read about Superbuger on Yelp. Went in the afternoon with 3 buddies and was surprised to see such a small dainty building. Not knowing what to expect inside we stepped in and was greeted by the nicest waitresses ever. We sat down at the horseshoe shaped table and had troubled deciding which burger to get because they all sound great. I don't remember the exact names but my two friends got a super sized cheese burger, another got the huge hot dog sandwich and i decided on the blue cheese mushroom and swiss burger. We also got Sweet Potato Fries, Shoestring Fries and TATER TOTS! When the food arrived, we were surprised how big our portions were and were puzzled as to how to attack these burgers. Luckily there were huge paper towels near by so we weren't afraid to get down and dirty with our burgers. My burger was delicious and awesome. The burger also had a garlic and artichoke puree on it. It was the perfect compliment to the blue cheese and mushrooms. The Sweet Potato Fries were great and the tater tots reminded me the good ol days of middle school. The total bill was around 40.00 for 4 people so it's a pretty decent deal for a great burger and sides. If you're headed around the Santa Rosa area, check this place out. It's worth visiting.

Awesome burgers! The St. Helena is probably the best Western style burger I've had. Milkshakes are great, fries are great, you can't go wrong here.

If your craving a really good, juicy, regular ol' burger, and don't feel like cook'n it yourself this is the place to pop in grab one. So first off if your not familiar with this place its S U P E R small. There is only counter seating in side, maybe about 15-20 seats, and that's pushing it. They have I think 3 tables on the side walk that can seat 2-5 I'd say. Its not a busy side walk so it's not really awkward. Since its so small sometimes you might have to wait for a seat/table but it never really takes long for one to open up. The service is good, nothing spectacular, but they are friendly, patient and accommodating. I get the sense that most of the staff have been there awhile and enjoy working there. So for me that's pretty much a bonus anywhere you go. Burgers - Nice selection with good meat. I think I even got an American Kobe burger once, which was surprisingly Kobe'ish if that makes any sense. At first I thought it was a little gimmicky, but it was actually was pretty yummy. Fries - They look like your standard frozen fry and though they where until I actually saw one of the waitress's washing some pealed potatoes which makes me think they are fresh, although I haven't seen anyone chopping them up, so jury's out on that one. They are decent, with a large serving;so I like that. One thing I do like is you can get a mix of fries and onion rings if your undecided Shakes/Malts - Good selection which comes in a nice serving, plus a little extra. All in all, I recommend this place to pop in grab a burger and subdue craving Price is decent about $5-8 for a burger, not bad.

**YUM** I remember this place from when I was a kid! It has changed ownership, but that's fine by me (remember the grumpy old couple?). Granted, it is a little pricey, but the fact that it is a small, locally owned and serves local meat and veggies kind of makes up for it. The burgers are BOMB- juicy, humongous and incredibly messy... the way they should be! The fries are delish, the onion rings scrumptious, and all together good. My friend and I ordered a milkshake each, and the poor waitress who was all by herself (with the whole bar full of people and making like 10 other milkshakes to go) accidentally mixed them up- instead of a thin vanilla malt and a thick chocolate shake, she gave us a thin vanilla shake and a thick chocolate malt. In actuality we didn't mind because they were damn good anyway. When we asked for the check we mentioned this and she was mortified, and told us we should have said something and she would have fixed it! But we said it was a-okay since they were yummy. I would DEFF go back there... just in moderation! The meals are delicious and incredibly filling, so I know that tonight I will not be having dinner except for maybe an orange lol

Yes, this is my first review ever. I would say it's mostly out of pure laziness, or lack of an internet connection. But what prompted me to go from Yelp voyeur, to Yelp exhibitionist? Beef, bacon, cheddar cheese, onion rings, all coated in BBQ sauce goodness and slapped up inside a toasted sesame seed bun. The St. Helena Burger was a revelation. Well, that might be a bit strong, but it was the best burger I've had since who knows when. HBG in Healdsburg and Taylor's Refresher in St. Helena are worthy contenders, but both are a more yuppie take on the burger . This is a traditional lunch counter burger. Onion rings very good, fries OK. The cramped diner interior doesn't take away from the true Americana that this place exudes. Abrupt service and smoke filling the room are all part of the ambiance, I guess? Instead, grab a seat outside and fill your belly. The only thing that could send this place into the 5-Star stratosphere, cold beer.

The burgers are so huge i really couldn't have eaten it all even with help. Good thing I discovered that all of their burgers come in a small size also. You definitely get your moneys worth but it can be crowded. I guess that means its good right.....

One time when I was in high-school, the (former) cook/owner threw a bell at my friend through the walk-up window. It was one of those pick-up/order-up bells. The kind understaffed offices put at the front desk. Apparently he didn't like my buddy's tone. So he threw a bell. The bell-thrower is gone, but the burgers are still amazing. As are the fries. And the onion rings. And the milkshakes. You pay for what you get, but you should probably just pay it. This place is quality... and I need to mention the fact that everyone (that I've dealt with) that works there is COOL. There is something to be said for coolness. YES.

My wife & I decided Superburger would be our lunch for today. We're not close by...had to drive around an hour to get there. The place was packed around 12:30 pm...flowing outside, where they have tables set up. We got lucky and found seats in a short time though. Ordered the St. Helena Ave. Burger; She got the BBQ Cheeseburger. Got the combo fries/rings. She had a Sprite and I got a Peanut-butter-mocha-malt (24 ozs.). Everything came in a relatively short time. Condiment tray in front of every other seat, even though we didn't need it for our burgers. Meat was cooked the way we wanted. Shoestring fries were so hot you risked a blister, and the rings were hot and not greasy. They gave us some ranch dressing at no charge. Also refilled her drink at N/C. More than we could eat. Didn't need dinner that evening. A bit pricey...but we got the big burgers. They have 1/4#r's for less. They also offer extra patties...up to 10 oz. ea. Hours are 11-9 on Friday/Sat.; 11-8 Sun/Thurs. Staff was very nice and available: Cute too! Waved to the chef as we left and were returned a great big thank you! Nice local clientel and flavor...the way you like it.

I was excited to try this place based on the reviews and because some of the best burgers I've had are from divey little shacks like this one. I left seriously disappointed. My burger looked pretty, but that was where it ended. I took one bite and was immediately repulsed by the flavor of the meat. It tasted like...chicken nuggets? But not the good kind? Plastic? Some combination thereof? I couldn't tell. All I know is that it was gross. Maybe they tried to cover it up with huge amounts of BBQ sauce, but that only enhanced the flavor. I tried my boyfriend's bacon burger to see if mine was a fluke: nope, his was disgusting too, but the bacon masked some of the icky. Everything else tasted sub-par, but that beef was a deal breaker. My boyfriend bought me a banana milkshake at Foster's Freeze across the street, which made up for it :)

Superburger is Super amazing. Little tiny hole in the wall...serving up the tastiest burgers. I had a bacon cheese burger, arnold palmer, and fries. My lunch guest had a cheese burger , onion rings and a toffy milk shake. We sat outside in the glorious santa rosa weather. The food is really really good...great fries and onion rings...the burgers were awesome...I love the bacon on mine...and the milk shake was as american as apple pie. Prices are really good. I will drive up from san fran anytime to this great find....you lucky Santa Rosaians.

This food is delicious. I don't know how they do it, but their fries and onion rings are fantastic and they stay crispy even when they cool off. I give them 5 stars just for the fries and rings. And the burger was so flavorful and juicy! Plus the bun is something special. Great taste and texture. Add to all that the friendly service and you've got a real go-to burger joint. I've been there 3 times and found it to be excellent all 3 times. Do yourself a favor and go get a great meal there.

I was skeptical because could Santa Rosa really have some good food?! Not to sound rude but the food up here . . . sort of sucks. But, I will show love for Superburger. The burgers are really good. Very juicy, fresh, and good quality meat. I got the blackberry shake and although I wished there were more blackberries in it, it was pretty good. Not that it matters but the waitress was really cute too. I thought the sweet potato fries were pretty good but not anything special. Overall, a solid 4 stars.

BOMB very juicy burgers and the best milshakes made with real ice cream right in front of you. love the sweet potato fries with ranch. its a must!

  • Justin G.

Hands down the best burgers (and more) I've ever had. I go here often for the St. Helena Ave and the McDonald Ave burgers as they're absolutely amazing. There's a good amount going on as far as toppings are concerned, but they really do go well together. The sweet-potato fries have set the standard for me, as they're almost always cooked perfectly with just the right amount of salt added. Most recently I stopped by and decided to change things up a bit by ordering the buffalo chicken sandwich and I'm really glad I did. So far I haven't had anything here that I didn't like so check it out if you like a flavorful burger with the works!

Having a huge craving for a good burger over the past few days and not knowing the next place to try, we trusted Yelp and tried out Superburger. We definitely weren't disappointed. I got the St Helena Ave Burger and she got the Montecito Ave Burger and we shared the Giant Half and Half basket (half shoestring fries and half onion rings). Everything was piping hot and quickly prepared. The meat on the burgers was cooked perfectly, and the barbecue sauce and onion rings on my St Helena Ave Burger were a perfect complement. To top off my meal, they even had Arnold Palmers on the menu. Which was perfect because today just happened to peak over 100' outside. We'll definitely be going back here again. I'm dying to try out the hotlink sandwhich, and maybe a malted shake next.

Due to Yelp Reviews we finnally decided to go to Superburger.. First of all, it is so friggin cute. Small place, but that is part of the charm. I felt like I was sitting in a soda shop in anytown USA back in the early 70s. Right down to the Tab clock and very cool cement ice cream freezer. We just orderd a couple basic burgers and the basket of fries and onion rings and 2 cokes. Fresh, delicious, fun, good service. What a find. Want a good solid burger for a fair price and feel like you are walkin down memory lane? Go to SUPERBURGER. The server asked me what I thought and I just yelped SUPER! This place is COOL.

I was in Santa Rosa on business and I'm checking out the Russian River Brewery down the street cuz it got a ton of good reviews, and I hear some locals arguing over the best burger in town. After a number of different places, one guy says: Superburger. And every one just stops arguing and nods in agreement. I'm so glad I overheard this conversation. Superburger was amazing. I actually wasn't very hungry, but as soon as I got within a block and saw the smoke from the broiler rising above the place, I knew I couldn't pass this place up. I got a burger (the Macdonald Ave?) with bleu cheese, mushrooms, and I had bacon added as an extra. I thought the burger was delicious, juicy, and flavorful, with that perfect smokiness you can only get from cooking over an open flame. Definitely a two-hand burger and I guarantee you'll be reaching for some napkins. Superburger also has some incredible fries, onion rings, and like 20 different milkshakes made from real ice cream. Did I mention they also have tater tots? Score! The servers were also super friendly. The only downside was their credit card machine not working, so play it safe and bring cash.

So my husband has absolutely RAVED about this place ever since he went. We decided to go for lunch over the weekend and I was NOT disappointed. As far as the food, I would definitely rate as 5 stars. Reason being: There are unique styles of burgers. I had the MacDonald Ave which had mushrooms grilled with garlic, a garlic puree drizzled on top of the burger with bleu cheese and a DELICIOUS artichoke mayonaise. (I don't even like mayonaise but I ate this one.) The Super Burgers are about $9 each but they do give you the option of getting smaller ones to try which are still 1/4 lb for $6 each or you can try 2 for $11. My 1/4 lb burger was PLENTY!! My husband got the 2 for $11 and wasn't able to finish them and he has an appetite. We also ordered the 1/2 and 1/2 (1/2 fries, 1/2 onion rings) which were $5 and we were easily able to split. The had cherry Coke and they serve their drinks with old school crushed ice. So refreshing!! Down sides to this place: Very small inside and a TON of flies. A little put off but the food made up for it. The waitresses were cute and sweet and we will definitely be going back when in the area!!

2 burgers, 1 milkshake, 1 tea, 1 onion ring, 1 French fry, $32.00. A little pricey. Oil broken down, so fries and rings tasted bad. I know it's a beloved local favorite, but we most assuredly won't be back, at any price.

Awesome burger! I came to super burger to satisify my craving for a great home cooked burger, I was not let down. The burger was freshly Made and super juicy! The beef was still sizzling hot when the waitress brought the double cheese burger to me, so delicious. The never ending fountain sodas are a major plus, especially with shaved ice :) For a small hole in the wall place they certainly make an awefully satisfying and memorable burger!!

Best burger ever. Delicious and generous serving of fries/onion rings. Shakes are made from real ice cream..are super thick and delicious. The waitress was super nice.

Big burgers, crunchy fries, hot dogs for the kiddies but no seating. This cute little place gets packed on a nice day and for good reason. The burgers are big but not too big, though I think they have a huge version you can order too. The patties aren't fake and pre-formed but good ol home-style hand pressed. They offer a few fancy versions but my cheeseburger hit the spot.

Love the Super Burger... I have had the pleasure of three trips to SB and ya... I am a fan. Perfect cheese burgers cooked to perfection served with a classic chocolate milk shake and well crafted French fries. Oh no! Now I'm hungry again. It's always a bit of a wait for a seat in this tinny gem but if you wait you will be pleased by both the service and the food. Eat at Super Burger. worth the money and the wait.

I've driven past this hole in the wall Burger joint for the last 15 years and thought it can't be that good but was always surprised it was still in business. After years of passing by, I finally decided that today I would check it out. Was I ever surprised. I have to say that this place has one of the best burgers in town. Cooked to perfection, juicy and a great selection of condiments. I also had a chocolate malt that was off the hook!!! If you want a damn good burger and milkshake, I highly recommend Superburger!!!!!!

I can't believe I've lived in Santa Rosa for 7 years and hadn't been here yet, because when my family ate dinner here tonight, it was amazing! My husband and son love the burgers and the variety of toppings, as well as the tater tots. I had the chicken sandwich with avocado and cheese (the Sonoma maybe?) and it was delicious. The baskets of fries and tater tots are so huge that we couldn't finish them, and they were tasty. They even keep a little bin of toys to keep kids busy while the food is cooking, which was helpful because I forgot my usual bag of tricks this time. We will definitely be back!

If you want the best burger in the county. Then go to Santa Rosa Superburger (penngrove location was not as good). Do it now! To go is a great option as seating is limited. Real burgers! Cool diner vibe. Young staff makes it feel lively and genuine. Awesome!

Had the St Helena burger to go. It was great! They packed it so the lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and pickles were separate and they didn't wilt. Ordered the small fries; got so much I thought they had made a mistake and given me the large size. Perfectly cooked. Will definitely make this a regular go to place. The burgers are so big, it might be good to split an order with someone or you'll be too stuffed.

No point being overly verbose: these are the best burgers I've ever had. The burgers are perfect; the sides are great; the shakes are made with real ice cream, and the price for everything is more than reasonable. Why get crappy burgers from a fast food chain, when you can get the real deal right here and support a locally owned business in the process? It's a no-brainer.

Best burger joint in town! The whole family leaves full and smiling. Our favorite place for onion rings and a burger.

Good burger. Soggy, sad little fries. Shake costs as much as a burger. Friendly service.

Great place for lunch or dinner; I've sampled much of the menu and everything was just great. The chili-burger is super for a cold day; the chili is like no other I've ever tasted = an unusual flavor but very pleasant. The McDonald Avenue burger is a good choice, as is the chicken sandwich with the pineapple slices but I can't remember the name. The hot dog is also high quality. They offer about three different mustards and have one of the singularly best barbeque sauces I've encountered. Friendly staff, clean presentation. Cramped space and if you're a bit too portly, the ancient (but comfortable) counter seats can be a bit restrictive. The only tables available are outside (three).

This place has the best burgers in Santa Rosa. The prices aren't too bad and the staff is really nice. The side portions are huge and the atmosphere of the place is "cozy". I really like how they have all of the condiments and toppings on the bar.

All that pink-slime news coverage almost kills my burger-craving. Almost. I wanted a burger. And I wanted a burger that wouldn't make me wonder about it's origins too much. After parking my car and catching a waft of burgerliciousness, I entered and found comfort in reading their "locally sourced fresh ground meat." Normally, I'd want more info but given my time constraints that was good enough for me. I got a bacon burger, some cole slaw, and onion rings and thanked my good fortune for finding a place with not only decent burgers, but one that is serious about getting good bacon. If you like burgers with taste, integrity, and nice local buns (hee hee), you'll like it here.

Took my Firefighter buddies there for lunch this last Saturday while attending a seminar in Santa Rosa. Hands down some of the best burgers ever. I had the St. Helena Burger with the venison meat option, Lean and mean! Superburger makes the real deal onion rings and their fries are light and not greasy. Barney's, Mikes and Fuddruckers make great big burgers, but the buns they use are not dense or toasted and you have a hard time holding it all together 1/2 way through the meal, in fact once you grab the burger your wed to it because it will come apart if you set it down. These folks use a denser bun and brown it. It held up until the last bite. Their shakes also start with ice cream hand scooped from a 3 gallon tub, need I go any further. Yah, the place is small (there is some outside seating) and I wouldn't expect prompt seating at 12 noon. If that's your requirement, you'll need to lower your expectations at any of the aforementioned digs. My buddies, families and freinds will be back............. Jeff

I love this place and it's right in my neighborhood almost. There are a couple things I would change if I could. The first is that it's very noisey. The grill fan, the music speakers, and the milkshake blender are all loud and are on all the time. Most people are not as sensitive to noise as I am (I know this) so it might not bother you. The second thing is the flies. Yes, you will see a fly or two crawling about. If that doesn't send you away, you will have a fabulous treat in the form of the best burger anywhere. Today I had the one with the pesto cheese and bacon, and it was heaven. Heaven! The waitress was attentive and charming with perfect timing. My order arrived just as the juices were beginning to soak into the bun, in other words, at exactly the right moment right off the grill. I've eaten here lots of times. They make a delicious BBQ sauce and put it on almost everything, so ask for your thing without it, if you prefer. They will build any of their burgers just the way you like. The current "health" trend toward cooking the bejesus out of hamburger meat makes me sad. At Superburger you can get a truely medium-rare burger. I love that. Free refills on fountain drinks. Awesome shakes. Insanely crispy onion rings. If you could take this whole experience and magicaly transport it to a quiet, carpeted, candlelit room with tablecloths and real forks and knives instead of plastic, it would have a Zagat rating. It's that good.

I was a vegetarian my whole life and when I was pregnant with my son, I craved meats. Especially beef. I have always heard the raves about Superburger and since it is local, I thought I would try my 1st ever hamburger here. I cannot remember the name of the burger I had, but it was delicious. It was by far, still, the BEST burger I have ever had. The burger was cook perfectly, avocado and other veggies were all fresh and the service was fast but very friendly. I also had a chocolate malt, which was fantastic. I really enjoy coming in from time to time to sit at the bar and eat, when I want a burger but am eating solo.

Yes it's kinda cramped, yes it's a hole in the wall, and YES it's the best burger you'll have in Sonoma County. I am a fan of Mike's but this burger joint beats anything that Mike has ever put out. I always get the smaller version of the burger, and it's still more than enough. My hubs has trouble finishing a regular sized one, and he eats. The onion rings are insanely good- beer battered and crispy and just oh-so-yummy. The fries are good, sweet potato ones are good too. I've not tried the tots yet, or the shakes though I have been tempted! And for the price- seriously you get mounds of food. And now they have grass fed beef! YES

The food here is nothing shy of awesome.. the service is pretty darn good too. Nice people, nice atmosphere. However, I just had a problem where I had a burger forgotten, had to drive back out there to get the missing food, from Rohnert Park in the mid day traffic. Was told that they wouldn't be charging me for the burger, but they they still did. So there is that... I guess I would rather just not have been told so, and I wouldn't have had as much of a problem. Might call later and see if they want to remedy the situation. On the bright side, I found out there's a super burger in penngrove, so that's a lil more convient. I'd still recommend eating there, maybe just check your food before you leave.. like I should've done anyways.

I slammed cow professionally at Heavenly Hamburger all through high school and college and I'm here to tell you that now that I'm out of the business, the very best place around is Superburger. Top notch ingredients and the place is actually friendly.

We ordered take out and this was honestly one of the best burgers I've ever had. Besides having the meal brought back to the house after a 15 minute car ride, everything was still fresh and amazing. I got the regular cheeseburger, which just comes with a big hunk of cheese, tomato, lettuce, pickles, and the most important--a gigantic beef patty cooked medium and to perfection with a little pink inside. The bbq sauce is what makes it stand out though I wish they slathered more of it on the bun and patty. However they probably didn't want to overwhelm the quality of the meat because it really is fantastic. And of course the best part of any burger meal are the sides and accessories. If you can contain yourself, get one milkshake. I tried the vanilla and it knocks Johnny Rockets, In n Out and probably your own homemade blender-shake out of the water. It's sweet, thick and decadent and probably an entire meal in itself. The sweet potato fries are also a great side, and though it's hard to mess up the classic fry, these are cut long and just a little bit soft and crunchy. Onion rings are great too. Superburger lives up its name and even more so the reputation. I highly recommend trying them at least once. An awesome local find in Santa Rosa!

What an amazingly delicious and unpretentious burger joint Superburger is. This place does not mess around when it comes to serving burgers. All the condiments you could possibly ask for are right before you within reachable distance and they don't bother with the dinky napkins most restaurants offer, they give you a roll of paper towels with your meal! The ingredients are fresh and the portion sizes are generous. I recommend getting the onion rings with your burger, they are fried to perfection.

Phenomenal! I am in town visiting family with my husband and 4 month old son. The location has a lot of character, but there wasn't room to set a car seat on the ground between seats and I forgot to bring my baby wrap so my only options were to wait for a table outside or sit baby on my lap which is a bit tricky for eating burgers. Just as all of us were about to pass up on the available seats and wait for a table outside, a gentleman (who I'm assuming is the owner) stopped us and offered a high-chair that his car seat could sit on. The issue was that would block one of the paths that the servers use, but the entire team immediately said no problem! I know it was probably a huge inconvenience to have us in there, but they were so nice and all of them had fantastic attitudes and made us feel so welcome. Sometimes it is hard eating in public with a little one, but they took all our worries away and we were able to enjoy a great atmosphere and delicious food. I would go back for the service alone, but when the food was as tasty as it was, this place is a definite favorite! I would recommend it to anybody who wants yummy food and friendly people.

My family and I love love love this place! The meat is fresh ground daily and its from local farmers! Best burger in Sonoma county forsure! Beer battered onion rings are great too! Service is always fast and friendly. The down fall is the small amount of seating available.

The burgers were AMAZING! My dad and sister both say it was the best hamburger they've ever had and they are tough to please! The milkshakes are sweet but tasty none the less. Had I not read the reviews, I would have passed this small restaurant. It small and home and the peoplee are nice and care about the food The pesto burger is amazing!.

let me start by saying mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm gooooooood phyllis burgers is down the street from me and is a-ok. while i wanted to try this place I had no idea it was that much better than the average burger joint. This place has got to be the best in the North Bay - old style counter, home made D-LISH-US Milkshakes, and the burgers............ juicy with so much flavor. Other burgers seem bland compared to these. Also try the Fries and Onion Rings - this place gets busy quick though. Order ahead of time. YUM

Let me first say, the food here is AWESOME. But my experience recently forced me to only give 3 stars...Here's why: 2 weeks ago I went in on a somewhat busy (but still manageable) Saturday afternoon. I had placed my order over the phone and showed up early since I live right down the block. While seated, a lady and her daughter (who obviously knew the people working there) walked in behind me and the girl behind the counter gave a big smile and "hello". I thought it was to me, but was just to them. I had yet to be acknowledged after being there for about 5 minutes. Then the owner asked me if everything was alright. I told him "yes, just waiting for a to-go order" and all was well. Soon, it had been close to 20 minutes since I had sat down and orders were flying by to people who came in after me. I saw a bag sitting by the window that goes to the outside patio area. Finally, I asked one of the waitresses "could that be my order?" "Oh" she replied, "it looks like it. I was wondering why you had been here so long!" and kind of laughed it off. Hey, I understand things happen but I wasn't even offered a slight discount off of my $11 order. I left a tip and walked home to cold fries and a luke-warm burger. In all honesty, it just seemed like the older, more "affluent" folks there got better treatment while I'm a younger guy in a t-shirt and jeans. But my money is green just like everyone else's. My only other recent experience was a few months ago and everything was great. My advice to the staff is don't let someone go unnoticed or ignored. Just because I don't have a sweater tied around my polo shirt doesn't mean I can't easily choose one of the many other great burger joints over yours, and chances are I'll be a more loyal patron if I get the proper treatment.

My family and I have been to more than a few "Burger Joints". We all agree that Super Burger is the best we have ever come across. If you haven't tried them out, get your heiney in gear. Oh, the malts and shakes are also to die for!

How did I not know about this place!?!??! Tiny little joint, busy as all get out, and completely a winner for when nothing but a burger will do. Well, that or a really good chicken sandwich with bacon, avocado and swiss cheese. Yum. Got the half&half and though the fries were good, it was all about the onion rings. Is it time for lunch yet?

Awesome burgers, and friendly service make this a regular stop for my family. I always phone in my order, and they are always ready In about 10 minutes for pick up. I've never had a problem with accuracy or attitude. Their stools are a little uncomfortable, but when it's nice out, they have a small patio type area that's nice. I love the St. Helena Ave. burger, and my wife loves the mushroom mixture they use on hers. Hope to continue enjoying this place for a long time!

Let me start off by saying this placed was raved about to me by my grandmother, and my grandma knows burgers. I had high expectations and was not a bit disappointed! Walking into the joint set the tone. Its something that hasn't changed a thing probably sinced it open. The round bar makes everything so personable. I ordered the bacon cheesebutger with bbq (i can't remember their fancy name for it), the sweet potato fries and split a birthday cake shake. Ok I know it sounds artery clogging and possibly terrible, BUT OH MY GOOODNESS, it was mouthgasm territory. The shake was spot on but very rich. I couldn't have had the whole thing even if it was all I ordered. The burger was cooked perfectly and surprisingly not as fatty as one would imagine. The sweet potato fries were unsalted leaving it to the customer to perfect its salty perfection. All A+, even with the high expectations. Would I go here again? Not right away, buy maybe in a year. I am not a person who likes to take 2 days worth of calories in 1 sitting. Its a burger joint, expect high calorie, high fat tasty goodness.

St. Helena burger. Bacon, cheddar cheese, delicious ground beef patty, BBQ sauce, red onions and topped off with onion rings... Good god it is a heart attack on a bun; but I tell you this: no other heart attack will taste as delicious as this one. So worth the calories, so worth the drive and so, so worth the mess.

St. Helena Avenue burger is heaven in my mouth. Don't get it on a first date or when you want to appear demure in anyway. It is an in your face, bold expression of flavor and textures (bbq sauce, crispy onion rings, crisp lettuce, fresh tomato and onion, toasted bun, crispy bacon). There is no wrong option here.

Again at this local restaurant. Another Fantastic meal. Burger was cooked to order And the onion rings were great. The service is fantsstic, I come here every time I am in Santa Rosa. I got here at about 2:30 and was finished by 3:15.

I don't know how this place doesn't have a full 5 stars. My Spring Street burger was one the most delicious burgers I've even eaten. Their homemade meyer lemonade hit the spot. We ordered tater tots instead of fries, and they were well-seasoned but not too salty or greasy. Their apple pie looked delicious, I was so sad that I was way too full to order a slice. Superburger indeed!

  • Julie B.

I love Superburger. Their burgers are bomb. Their shakes are bomb. And they have TATER-TOTS! The only real complaint I have is the service is usually slow, and sometimes the waitresses forget about you if you're outside. Great greasy family dinner out, as my daughter and husband always agree without any arguments!

I went here thinking it was a CHEAP "hole in the wall" (as other yelpers said). This place is definitely not cheap, but it is really good. I would pick this place over "Johnny Garlics" any day. All of our burgers were excellent, and I really enjoyed the shoestring fries. The arnold palmer was excellent. We ordered take out but I liked the little restaurant. It was a sunny day so there was outside seating. Inside seating is hard to come by if it's busy so be prepared to wait.

After many years of seeing this place when I go by it, I decided to try it. Why? Because I bet on the NY Giants out of chance and they won the superbowl, which meant my dad owed me a burger. So this was my place of choice. And I do not regret it. One of my favorite things about this place is the option of ordering 2 quarter pound burgers for only 11 dollars. Pick any 2 from the menu. I ordered the Spring Street and some other one I can't remember the name of but was very delicious. The Spring Street had jack cheese, bacon, and pesto. The pesto was not overbearing like at other places. It was just right. They could use some thicker bacon. The other burger had bleu cheese (which I'm not a huge fan of), garlic, and mushrooms. The flavors of the tangy bleu cheese with sweetness of the garlic definitely complimented each other which made eating the bleu cheese bearable for me. It was a messy burger but still really delicious. I would order both of those again. My dad ordered the King Cheese or Cheese King burger. He said it was really tasty, with the exception of the BBQ sauce, but that's only because he's not a fan of it. He made an exception and really enjoyed the burger. His biggest satisfaction was that he asked for his burger medium rare and he got just that. None the less, we ordered our burgers, even if we didn't like some of the items on them, to give said items and the burgers a chance. We loved them. Delicious, flavorful. We ordered a side of onion rings and fries, half and half. For $5 the basket is filled plenty. The onion rings are thick and flavorful. The fries are not too thick that they feel spongy or mushy on the inside and they are cooked to a good crisp. The service was good. Our hostess/waitress was on top of things and very kind. The food came out in a nice timely fashion. They also have a big jar of peperoncinis, in my book, that's always a plus. We have added Superburger to our list of favorites and so should you. If you're looking for a good burger, this is your place. The prices are not outrageous. I don't how some people have complained about this place.

Great food. Tater tots taste like grease, tho. Not that they are greasey, they TASTE like grease. Stick with the fries or rings. They're awesome. Okay service. Truly "eh". Terrible take-out (they'll get it wrong EVERY time and when I called the owner out on this once, he actually said--no joke--he was thinking of doing away with take-out because "he gets so many complaints". Perhaps if they double-checked or trained employees correctly, this wouldn't be an issue but alas, the owness is on us customers because we complained! Can you imagine eliminating a revenue source to your business because you are inept at training employees? He also spoke very poorly of his staff, which I find generally unpleasing). Super high prices. Owner is a total jerk but his cousin who owns Midtown Cafe across the street seems nice. And Midtown's food is pretty good but prices are high there as well. Used to go to Superburger at least once a month (been going since childhood and I'm 40!) but now down to once every six months or so for reasons above.

This place is freaking awesome. Easily the best casual burger you can get in our COUNTY. I love going there, it's like finding that hole in the wall place that just happens to serve an amazing burger. Staff there is always awesome. After only going a few times, 1 or 2 of the staff remembered us and started greeting us more personally, which is fantastic for making the place feel like home. Only problem with the place is that it's a little overpriced. The Cheese King burger I get is 9$ by itself. Shakes are 6$. If this place would drop it's prices a buck then I would be going a lot more, but dropping 20$ on a burger meal (tip the nice staff of course) makes it a little hard to eat there more than once a week or two.

    (4)

Yeah...they're really good. One problem. And it kinda worries me. When I eat here for lunch, I have absolutely no appetite for dinner. None. What is up with that?

I am afraid to even tell you how good this burger is because I dont want to fight you to get in line for my own burger. I had the regular burger with cheese and I am addicted. I recommend this place to anyone who really enjoys a great burger fries and shake. OMG.....

  • Elka Z.

This place is the BOMB! The meat quality is top notch as are all their other ingredients. I personally don't care for the BBQ sauce they put on the burgers but I just get it without the sauce. If you are not sure if you like BBQ sauce just ask for it on the side, it comes on all the burgers. The Fries are also really good! A cute little spot with one of the best burgers you'll ever have. I'm a huge burger snob!

The ONLY reason my new fave dive doesn't get 5 stars is indoor seating is pretty tight so big buys and big girls beware! The girls working there are just darling. They do everything they can to make you feel at home and well fed. Lots of choices so my Mom and I went with the very yummy dogs, half and half fries and rings (both very cripsy and tasty) orgasm inducing coffee malted (really just ask for the extra malt it's worth it :) You get tons of options for toppings and by the time your order is up you have made your choices and can chow down!

This is definitely a 5 star burger. I ordered the St. Helena Burger which has a 10oz sirloin patty, cheese, thick bacon slices, 3 huge onion rings, lettuce, tomato and some damn tasty BBQ sauce. This could be one of the best burgers I have ever had. The bun was fresh and slightly toasted. They have shoe string fries and some cajun season salt on the counter. Honestly, the best burger I remember eating. Don't miss out on this place.

To me, this is the best burger place in Santa Rosa and one of the best in Sonoma County. I have been going to Superburger since 1999 and the recent change has actually improved it. The burgers are simply wonderful. The meat is nicely cooked, juicy and tasty, the buns are solid with a great feel and taste and they hold up well. The condiments are provided in large amounts, with a condiment tray on the counter. Coleslaw, friwes, and onions rings are wonderful, and they have malts, etc., as well. The burgers range of modestly sized plain burgers, to larger ones, to a variety of done-up choices like the St. Helena, and one can get a choice of a couple smaller versions of different burgers, nice when one can't make up one's mind. I'll add that they have crushed ice for the soda pop, always my favourite way of having ice in a drink but so rarely seen today. I also have always loved the place and location, a real, old-fashioned burger joint in a small wooden building with seating on stools around a counter that rings the service area. There is also some outdoor seating.

I really wanted to like this place. I enjoy spending my money at small, locally owned businesses, and Superburger has been around for over fifty years (according to one of the employees). However, it had one fatal flaw: the overall quality of my meal did not in ANY way reflect in the price. I ordered a burger with mushrooms and Gorgonzola, fries, and a small chocolate milk shake. The girl who took my order didn't mention that they only had one size milkshake, and that it was pretty huge - which in and of itself was not a huge deal. However, the fact that a plain chocolate shake costs $6 IS a big deal. They apparently have a huge variety of milkshakes, and I'm sure they're all really tasty, but I've had comparable chocolate shakes at In N Out for a whole lot less. I expected that my burger would be around $9.00, and if it hadn't been a giant, soggy, bland mess, I would have had no problem with that price. It was definitely a big burger, but it wasn't delicious. The (small, unimpressive) side order of fries was $2.50, which means that in the end I paid close to $20 for a meal that was fairly disappointing all-around. My general feeling about Superburger is that you'd do better buying just a burger (but not the mushroom and cheese - seriously, HOW do you make ANYTHING with Gorgonzola bland?!) and picking up a bag of Ore Ida fries to go with it... or just going to the Foster's Freeze across the street.

All I can say is big, greasy and total Belly Bomb burgers. If you are a burger fan, this is your place. Different burgers with different topping, but my favorite is the plain ole hamburger. We order the Half and Half to share, (Fries and Onion rings) and it is the best of both worlds. Hot pickled peppers on the counter in front of you as well as condiments. Might be difficult to eat in large groups here, counter is u shaped and has limited seating. So get here early or after the lunch crowd to get a seat together.

I love this place! I like the basic cheeseburger, none of the other stuff like blue cheese, mushrooms etc. If I wasn't so fat, I may add bacon but with lettuce, tomato, cheese and the house bbq sauce, it's sooooo good you have to check it out! Oh and the people working there are so nice too! Support your locally owned and operated restaurants Yelpers!

Dear Superburger... I love you. No...but wait. I know that you're thinking, "Everyone loves me!" but really...I love you. You're so quaint and so cute...but you make some a mean burger. Gawd...it was amazing! We waited for about 5 or 10 minutes because it was packed, but I think it was worth the wait. And the poor waitress was totally swamped, so it was really cute when she passed out an order-tag to myself and the people that sat next to us and said, "We're going to play a game...please fill out your own orders." While I might have been pissed at other places for this, it was cute in it's own way. Not only were the onion rings and burger I ordered so amazingly f-ing tastic good...but the toffee crunch milk shake made me wonder if I should have my own milk shake machine at home. So freaking great. Santa Rosa...you're a lucky town...lucky lucky indeed! If I had a Superburger here in San Francisco...well, I would easily be their #1 fan. Have my own seat and everything!

We stopped in based on Yelp reviews. Terrific burger! Fries and onion rings good back not as good as the burger. All the fixings right at the counter to create that dripping master piece of a burger. We will be back if were in the area again.

My favorite burger place in Sonoma County! Love that I can get a smaller version of the big burgers, but the Cheeseburger is my favorite--lets all the good flavors shine through! And don't forget the Sweet Potato fries with Onion Rings--goes great with their house made ranch dressing!

The burgers and fries here are very good. The standard cheese burger comes with a fresh bun, all the usual toppings, plus a subtle but tasty barbecue-type sauce. The fries are thin and crispy just like I like them. The ambiance is very old fashioned with a "U" shaped counter as the only place to sit inside (there are also a few tables outside). It can get cramped during peak hours.

Their cheeseburgers are so good! I would really like to try a milk shake someday but every time I come here I MUST get a cheeseburger so there's no room for a shake :(

A few years ago when we moved to Santa Rosa we found Superburger in the Bohemian's best of section and decided to give it a try one hot summer night. The quality was nothing to write home about, but it tasted like a good old fashioned burger joint and the sizes of the portions were great as they were not the normal jumbo size you get at most places. Having grown up with a grandfather who would sometimes indulge us in diner food I loved the older style and the fact that they served pie. It was sort of fun and nostalgic. Every once in a while my wife and I would go for the experience, and we even got to know the waitress after a little while. We noticed over time how insanely expensive it started to become, and how rude (other than our waitress) the servers were. They would bark at you and they would often close at random hours like 7:30pm on a friday night. So - we stopped going. Tonight we were driving to the store and we decided it was time to fill the rare burger craving so we pulled over. Walking in we saw that it was under new ownership and they had spruced the place up a little. What we found however, is the service was worse. We tried to order our food to go because there was no where to sit and the server told us they were no longer doing to go orders for the night. Funny - the family in front of us just took theirs to go. We asked why and were given some BS answer about how their "house" was full and so they were no longer serving take out. We left. And we didn't give them any business. Honestly - I am ok with a place acting like a bunch of hipster bastards if the food is amazing - can anyone say Arizmendi in Emeryville - but Superburger? The food really isn't that great to begin with and they are going to pull soup nazi attitude. That is the end of our superburger run - we're probably better for it. BTW - the bacon is $1.75 extra. It's not organic, natural, or even good. Just in case you were wondering.

How Superburger roped me in: 1. Walked in & holy cow, this place is adorable! Community seating around a wonderfully lit bar. Each seat is within arm's reach of ketchup, mustard, and any/all other condiments. Noted large rolls of paper towels on super nice locking metal Kitchenaid stands (you know, so the towel stand doesn't come flying at you when you tug). Made me nod props to whoever put those in. There is a glorious churning bowl of lemonade to zone out on in the middle of this configuration. Fun to look at all the details, really. 2. Ordered Arnold Palmer. It came with crushed ice (my favorite), and tasted like an Arnold Palmer. Things were looking up. 3. Ordered large fries, which I shared with my husband. Bad idea, as we inhaled them as if we were in some sort of eating contest with each other. Couldn't wait to try the burger I ordered. 4. Burgers arrive. Though we were hungry, we sat in awe of the pile of goodness in front of us. I was so hypoglycemic that I felt like crying, it was so pretty. Had the Montecito burger, and every. single. thing. was perfect. It was such a huge mess, with it's guacomole squirting everywhere, and bacon trying to hold onto the patty. It was seriously one of the best burgers I've ever had, in the entire country. The ingredient quality was exceptional for the price. My husband talked about his reg. cheeseburger for hours after we left. 5. We decided to order a chocolate shake for the road. After tasting that, we had to remain seated for fear that our heads would explode from all of the awesome. We can't wait to go back. They have tater tots. TATER TOTS!

Got the King Burger and hot tea. The service was way above average. The owner of the place was super nice. Plus he speaks Russian really well for an American.

I haven't had a burger in several months and wanted one of those dripping juicy burgers that only fresh ground meat and proper combination of fat and condiments can deliver. My expectations were fuel by the reviews and lack of recent pigging out. I should not have set my sights so high. My last visit to this place must have been about 5 or 6 years ago, and my memory was better than how I felt after wasting the calories on the cheeseburger. Over cooked patty ( must be the normal rule of legal liabilities) delivered a ho hum experience. The only redeeming twist was the condiment tray which allowed me to load up on relish to make it easier to get down. I didn't finish it all, and it wasn't because I was satiated. It just wasn't that great. The place must still be great for real milk shakes, but the burger I had was a let down. The fries were decent, but nothing stellar. There are several burger joints better in town, so this is a no return for me at this time.....sorry. Service was ok, there were only 6 or 8 people total...price Ok. experience so so.

I can't believe I've lived in Santa Rosa for 5 years and had not tried this place. We went last week and I was blown away at how tasty my chicken burger was. The seating is really unique and charming. The staff was friendly and even hung my son's burger picture on the wall. The only drawback to this cute burger joint: when we left, we all smelled like burgers!

Try their pesto burger! Nice and juicy and pesto gives it an interesting taste. Amazing selection of milkshakes too!! Toffee crunch milkshake was good.

Every time I've been, it's pretty busy. Both people eating in and folks picking things up. Even so, I've never had to wait to order. Staff is always very attentive. Lots of different things to get on your burger. I haven't tried the shakes, but my picky kids have and loved them (there are so many different shakes you can get too). Way better than some of the other burger places in town.

This is the best burger joint I've ever been to. Every burger is awesome. They hand make their onion rings & fries. Fresh local bread made & delivered daily. They also have homemade pies & malt shakes. Me & my girlfriend rate all other burgers to SuperBurger & not one has ever came close. We've drove there more then once from Vacaville just to have lunch.

Stopped in here after an appointment in the neighborhood and I had a great burger. So great in fact that I came back the very next week for a repeat performance. Not a lot to say about the place. They serve good burgers for a good price and they are friendly. Nuff said.

Tried to have lunch here the other day.......I know the place was busy but the help didn't even acknowledge my buddy and I. We went to Carmen's Burger and we weren't disappointed. If the food in this place is equal to the service that we received then this place is a zero so the burgers must be good enough to overcome its service shortcoming. I don't think I'll take a chance, I'll choose to go to Carmen's instead.

they use quality buns. a pet peeve of mine is when so-called "excellent" burger joints use standard wonder bread type buns. they are the lowest quality of bread made, and are pushed on the public because they are cheap and easy for big, commercial bakers to make--but they suck as a food item. superburger uses franco american (real bread) buns, which are much more expensive but are necessary if you purport to sell an awesome burger or dog. sometimes the food isn't consistently great, BUT their burgers are the best i've ever had and are so so yummy.

Old dinner feel with charm the burgers our awesome shakes are fantastic and the onion ring are perfection the burgers remind me of the old Broiler Bugler that was down the street in the 80's so if you remember that and been missing it go there and you will be rewarded.

The name says it all! This is head and shoulders above anyone else in town. There are two other good hamburger joints in town but the distance between Superburger and the others is tremendous. It's a bit like saying a Porsche, a Corvette and a space shuttle are the fastest vehicles. With Superburger being the space shuttle! The meat, the fries, onion rings and shakes are all top notch. As well as the service which seems to have gone out of style in most places these days. I went four weekends in a row before I wrote this review. The quality of the food and service is very consistent!

Great Burgers and Shakes. However, be smart when choosing a special burger, as some of them can be a little overwhelming greasy, even for me as a grease lover. I like to keep it simple. Portions are large, and the 1/2 and 1/2 onion rings/fries is a meal in itself.

Oh my goodness. FOODGASM x10. I went here one day after my finals ready to stuff my face and eat my feelings....hey at least I'm honest! I came in with my boyfriend after hearing people talk about the amazing burgers here. The place itself is very cute and tiny. Super old fashioned and perfect for a little date. It's probably only the size about an average persons living room! Very tiny! We started off by ordering a shake. I had gotten a shake here ages ago and remembered how delicious and huge it was, so we decided to share one. It's a good option to share one since the shakes aren't cheap anyways, around six dollars, but they are made with all real ice cream. After we sipped happily on our snickers shake(yummm) we ordered burgers. I got the burger with pesto and my boyfriend got one with pineapple. There aren't many options which I really like. I think that shows that restaurants really focus on making their few selections perfect. We also ordered a small onion rings side I can't describe in words how amazing all the food was. The burger was cooked perfectly, the ranch they brought for our onion rings was probably the best ranch I've ever had, even the buns for the burgers were delicious. All the waitress were sweet and attentive. For it being such a small space they managed to give us our "space" while we ate. I can't wait for my next burger craving because I know where I'll be heading. This place has the best burgers I have had in Sonoma County. GO THERE.

And yes I'll come back. The burgers are awesome and usually so are the sweet potato fries !!! But always great otherwise. Usually the whole meal is great even the service!!!

I was going to go in and it looked nice but seem to small. It gave me a feeling of too much closeness and all locals.I went in and ot seems like all the food was cooked on one location.I will try to go back another time. This is the only place in all I visited made me feel too close to people and how the food is made.I hope that you find it to meet your standards.I have went to many places and If you go please let me know how you feel and I will keep it in mind.I was hungry that day for a burger so I ended eating some pizza.

From out of state and stopped by with my grandparents. Great service and one of the best burgers I've had. Compares to some of my favorites back in Detroit. Defiantly recommend to anyone looking for a great and tasty burger. Also good prices especially for California

I'm honestly so disappointed by super burger! My time there was terrible! So I walk into super burger excited to have a yummy burger and I notice that the whole place is completely packed, this did not bug me at all because the wonderful aroma coming from the kitchen and it is a small place! I was standing inside looking at the menu with my boyfriend. A male waiter asked me what my orders was told me it would be a couple of minutes a quickly left to help another customer. He did not ask me if my order was for dine in or take out so I just assumes that he knew I wanted to eat in! Then about 30 minutes later I finally receive the milkshake that I had ordered, but it was in a to-go cup so I quickly asked the young lAdy making milkshakes, if my order was to go or for dine because I hate getting my burgers to go because by the time I eat them they are cold! Before she could even help me a rude and I believe WAY. Out of line waitress rudely says "she didn't take the order and either did I so it's to go" I then said I didn't want it like that and that I wanted to eat in especially since I had found a seat after standing for 20 minutes! She said nothing and went along with her job and then about waiting 45 minutes I receive my food and you'll never guess in a to go bag! I was so infuriated I just paid and left! Then when I got home my fries were soggy and not crisp at all as well as my tots and my burger was cold! I will never go back there they made me frustrated and while I was there waiting they messed up two other peoples orders as well! It was a waist of 42 dollars!

Stumbled upon Superburger (via Yelp) while driving through the area and boy are we glad we did. We had cheeseburgers with a side of guacamole and OH MY GOSH!!! The hamburger was AMAZING!! I could actually taste the beef and it was dancing on my tongue. There was a light (housemade??) bbq sauce on the burger that was delish. But the BUN was what put this hamburger over the edge. It was hearty yet hefty enough to hold the juiciness of the meat and sauce. The burgers were $6.50 each, which we didn't think was expensive for the quality of the hamburger. We also ordered a side of onion rings that were perfect in every way. So...why the FOUR stars? Well...we ordered a chocolate malt and I was stoked because I only buy milkshakes/malts that are made with real ice cream and these were made with REAL ice cream. The size was generous, the milkshake was nice and thick. HOWEVER...there was little chocolate flavor and literally NO malt flavor. My husband had to go back in and ask for a side of chocolate syrup. We were very disappointed. We travel through the area every year and we will definitely be coming back, however, we won't be buying milkshakes next time.

I've never had a better burger. I ordered a cheeseburger with Grass Fed beef, simply amazing. I also love the way they make the shakes with the big silver container, also delicious! The perfect place to come when you're really hungry because the portions are quite large. I would also recommend trying the bbq sauce they put on the burgers, I got mine on the side in case it was just to overwhelming but it turned out to be delicious also. Go to Superburger, you'll be glad you did.

Quick service. Low prices. Burgers don't come with fries. But hands down the best shoe string French fries I've ever had. Don't get onion rings. Not fresh. Lemonade is great. Chocolate shake can't go wrong! Burgers are cooked to perfection. Love this place and would recommend it to anyone.

I have searched for the best tasting burger for many years and I found it at SuperBurger. It was no doubt the best burger I ever had and will ever have. I will drive from sac just to eat there, but next time i need to try the milkshakes as well. My search is over and my mouth is watering just writing this review. Maybe I can find a house nearby so I can eat there 4 times a week....

Oh my goodness I cant tell you how delightful this burger was! I went with 3 friends and we all ordered different burgers and we eat took bites out of each others and they were all excellent! The Montecito Burger was so good the beef was juicy and delish the McDonald Ave Burger was soooooo good, and the pineapple terryaki burger which i didn't think I would be a fan of was so good! If you like hamburgers go here and sit at the counter and be ready to get your hands little dirty because these burgers are seriously a handful and the price is so right!

Amazing! Best burgers in Santa Rosa! But you already know that from reading the other reviews. On top of their great food, the last time I went in to order some food to go, without asking my waitress gave me a glass of ice water while I waited. I know this doesn't seem like much but it meant a lot especially compared to the service I've gotten at other restaurants. And speaking of the ice water, they have some of the best crushed ice! Well there you have it, I've sufficiently reviewed a burger joint based on the type of ice they serve.

Always delicious. We live in the neighborhood an have eaten at Superburger many times and have never been disappointed. My current favorite is the Spring Street which has Jack cheese, pesto & applewood smoked bacon. Absolute perfection! Yes the place is small, and they get busy quick, but the staff is always friendly and the food consistently good.

I went every week for the first 4 weeks after the grand opening! LOL! I'm really not supposed to be eating burgers! However, I was kidnapped and held hostage here and ate every single fry!! The burgers are excellent! The shakes are fatty! What's not to like!! Oh and they have that ice I love!! Slushy old fashioned ice, I know... who pays attention to the ice?! Well I do! It makes a huge difference!! I'll see u here! :)

Bad from start to finish. Walked in waiting to sit and was completely ignored. Person that came in after us was greeted and attended to. Strike one. Did sit after a few minutes. Ordered a milkshake that never came. Watched many get made. Had to ask for it, it was forgotten. Strike two. Ordered 1 burger to eat there and one cheeseburger to go. Both cooked medium. The to go order was served to me, cheese was not melted at all. It was 2 squares of kraft cheese sitting there unmelted on the patty. Strange. Told them this wasn't what I ordered and asked them to box it up. and they took it away and it never came back. Then my hamburger didn't come. The cooks forgot it! My companion had finished her bean burger and I still waited for them to bring my food. Strike three. When my burger did come, it was cooked well done!!! Since my companion was finished I asked them to remove from the bill as I didn't want it. Strike 4. I then asked for my to go order and they didn't have it, so had to be re-cooked! Really??? Had to wait, again!! And the staff could care less that this was going so badly. All in all, fries were forgettable, my well done burger that I didn't eat was super thin like McDonalds thin. Hamburgers are what they do! They can't get that right? Sad. Very OVERRATED! It was much better when it was Gayle Darling's Super Burger! Miss you Gayle!

Friends told me i had to try this place. I went inside ...several servers looked at me but no one said anything to me. I said, excuse me i need to sit outside to watch my bike...should i order inside or wait outside? They told me to go outside and they would come outside to get my order. They proceeded to wait on people who walked inside after i came. No one looked at me, or came outside. I waited about 12 to 15 minutes. I just got up and left...no one came and said hi, come back, sorry ,nothing.... I drove over to Carmen's where they went all out to serve me and engage. Burger was good, but Carmen's service as in the past, was great.

Couldn't decide between lunch or breakfast. Came in at 10;45 right after breakfast and before lunch. So I combined the two. Added a fried egg to my super burger. It was delicious, the patties were cooked well and the egg was fried perfectly.

Superburger was on a ton of best burger lists and was really hyped. I am told the burgers are great by the folks i ate with. unfortunately, while they do have veggie burger option, I was a little disappointed that ti was the costco variety. I would have preferred if they had a house made veggie burger but they serve costco veggie burgers and also costco nuggets for the kids who order a nugget meal. I'm glad they do have veggie option, and i could eat with my group instead of watching them eat. The shakes were pretty good. I'd return for the shakes, and probably pack my own veggie option next time. Seating is pretty tight - our party of 8 sat around the counter because there were no tables available. They could tell we were tourists/not locals and asked us where we were from - i'm not sure if they asked because we were the only asians there. They also had a cup of crayons and a worksheet for the kids to draw their own burgers while they were waiting for their meal.

Such sublime deliciousness! We popped in today, looking for a grubbing burger and I was on a mission for sweet potato fries! I had the Spicy Buffalo Chicken with bleu crumbles & bacon, only sans chicken with a burger instead. I was not let down, my burger was DE-FRIGGIN-LISH! Oh. My. God. My eyes rolled back in my head, it was that damn good. The fresh ground hamburger was flavorful and cooked just right. And I love that they use a local butcher! The bacon was meaty man bacon, not those weird stripy things you get on your burger at Applebee's. The buns are fluffy, buttery and dense & stood up to the onslaught of flavorful fixings that our burgers had going on. My daughter had the Cheese King with avocado and it was full on sloppy, hose-yourself-down-afterwards goodness! No worries, though, there are rolls of paper towels EVERYWHERE! We shared a giant basket of half and half ~ o-rings and YEP, sweet potato fries, and might I say the fries were crispy and seasoned well, which again is why I scoped this place out right? But the onion rings?? NO, REALLY you guys, the onion rings?? HOLY SH!T, BEST. EVER. Period. For bevvies, we ordered a toffee crunch and an orange creme milkshake. The orange creme was delicious and thick, my toffee crunch was delicious but a bit runny (hence the one star drop). No worries though, I was in an orgasmic food heaven by then & didn't mind a bit. And I will try another shake, maybe it was just a fluke, ya know? I might I add, we ate there around 4ish, it's almost 10 and I am still Full full full. And so satisfied! Go get a burger here. I swear you won't be disappointed! There's a horseshoe wrap-around bar that seats maybe 20 inside, if you're not a naturally svelte person or have a physical limitation, getting into the bar might be a challenge, but they have cute little tables outside, and the food is so worth it! Grab a seat quick and getcher grub on! * I gave it 2$ rating. Although you can get a burger for under $10, the sides and drinks are separate and who the hell gets a burger without fries or o-rings?

The service was friendly and the pesto burger was supergood. I also enjoyed the crushed ice in the sodas that some of the other reviewers had mentioned. We were there on a Saturday afternoon and had to wait on a nearby bench for a table to open up, but it wasn't too long a of a wait.

fellow yelpers... THANK YOU!!! omg, YUMM!!!! this hole in the wall is the bomb. and my husband and i are burger snobs. and milkshake snobs. so we were on our way back home to los angeles from visiting my husband's family in calistoga. as we were approaching the 101, my husband suddenly gets a craving for a milkshake. i quickly yelp and find this place. we park, enter, and my husband is like... meh, i don't think they use real ice cream. i say, yes they do! he wants to leave. i say, c'mon, i want some too. we sit at the counter, and we are practically drooling from seeing the guy next to us eat his burger. then we read that the ground meat is local. hmm. this is looking promising. the guy next to us confirms his burger is amazing. alright, we have to order one. we get the regular bacon cheeseburger and a mocha malt. *CUE HALLELUJAH MUSIC OR SIMILAR* their burgers are spot on. so flavorful and tasty. and their malt... perfect consistency. i'll just leave it at that. u must go here, all u lucky bastards who live near here.

It's been about 2 years since I've been to this place and all I can say is... I LOVE THIS PLACE SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH. Nothing can compare to the charbroiled taste of a well cooked burger. I ordered the cheeseburger but instead of cheddar, I asked for Blue cheese. My. god. I especially love their tater tots. Always soo crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I tried their Arnold Palmer for the 1st time. It's now my favorite drink alongside any burger. The staff here is always friendly and welcoming. Thank goodness this place hasn't changed at all because this is the kind of place I want to take my children when I grow older. Too bad its 7 hours away from where I lived.

This place proved to be amazing out of my 30 minutes being there. First off, great customer service! My waitress was nice, friendly, and relatable. And then I ordered the Mt. This is a cool little spot with a great old-school feel in a nice neighborhood. This is a place I really wish was better. It's not as good as its 4 star cumulative rating. The fries and onion rings are decent and thats where the accolades stop. The shakes taste overly sweet more than rich and were warm, not cold. Neither of my 2 girls finished one-third of the chocolate or oreo shakes. The burgers are very minimal quality which is masked with the charcoal flavor and unbelievably over-salted. I took 2 bites...threw it in the trashcan...excessive salt is so disgusting. The Sonoma chicken sandwich starts with a decent piece of chicken, but there is more avocado spread than the sandwich, the roll, or my mouth can handle. It is so ridiculously sloppy, only able to eat about half and its now piggy-backing the over salted burger in the can. The avocado spread is spun into a pureed smooth pulp that is almost watery. It soaked the bun to the point where it appeared to be dunked into a glass of water. Maybe use one-quarter the amount of volume but use chunks of real avocado. Superburger original owners were passionate about the quality of their product, things are different now.

First of all, we are almost weekly customers. This place is pretty good. The McDonald Ave burger is awesome, and my bf likes the cheese king. This place has diner vibe to it and you shouldn't expect anything different. The staff is never rude and always gracious. They have good variety for milkshakes(one week they had pumpkin pie and another apple pie including their regular list of about 10 or so) and they use real homemade ice cream. So of course this place is small crowded, not air conditioned and the bathroom is inconvenient, but we go here because the food and service is great and our favorites taste the same. The quality of the beef in the burgers is pretty good and the small portion of french fries is generous.

Well, it's not the best burger in Sonoma Co., but it is the greasiest...by far (and not in a good way). Both our burgers were dripping in grease and unfortunately they didn't taste as good asit sounds like they should. The flavor was overwhelmed. The toppings are not as fresh as a lot of other burger spots. And the fries/onion rings are just plain overdone. Perhaps I just don't care for extra crispy fries. I suspect they are not big on changing the oil in the deep fryer. My friend said the milk shake was the best thing, nice and creamy. The counter staff were very efficient and capable, but I'm afraid I won't be back (Dr's. orders).

Read about it in this weeks Press Democrat, looked up their website and on yelp, and decided to take the family last night. Prices on their web site are outdated. Friendly waitresses & hard working cook. We were 2 adults and 2 kids and we ordered (and enjoyed!) 3 regular cheeseburgers & 1 regular hamburger, 2 shakes, 1 lemonade, and 1 water, and a split basket of fries & rings. Everything was great! Then the bill came . . . . . $52.00, so $60.00 with tip for burgers for 4! OUCH!!!!!

This place was actually pretty good...a little pricey for a burger stand but whatever. I'd eat there again if I could afford such luxury.

I'll admit, I'm an out of towner, although I lived in SR for 3 years (02-05). I'd never tried Superburger until Saturday last week and was delighted at the experience. You can get a 1/2 and 1/2 basket (fries and onion rings) and they make onion rings the RIGHT way (battered, not crumbly). I had the McDonald Avenue burger, Snickers shake, and split fries/rings with a friend. They cook the meat perfectly and it was delicious. The pureed roasted garlic and artichoke heart mayo was TO DIE FOR! Seriously, if SB sold this, I'd buy it by the bucket. I did NOT go hungry. Garlicy mushrooms on the burger, the awesome mayo, perfectly cooked burger, delicious and well mixed shake, perfect onion rings. Oh, yeah, I'll go back! Again and again As a kicker, after they cleared the table, my wife called me and asked me to bring home fries. The waitress put in the order and refused my money when I tried to pay for the added item. THAT's how you make lifelong customers.

Had the regular cheese burger and it was one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. Cheese burger, sweet potato fries, strawberry milk shake was plenty for two people!

Decided to hit this place up today for lunch. It was pretty busy, but there was space to sit. The seating (inside) is a horseshoe shaped counter. There was a few tables outside. The place gets crowded! I ordered a burger (with homemade BBQ sauce) and a side of SWEET POTATO FRIES. Wow, was it good. Big burgers and the fries were so crisp! The burger was just the right size with all the fixings (tomato, lettuce, onion). It was a 1/3-lb patty, you can get a bigger one if you want. It tastes like homemade. Way better than those Five People. The sweet potato fries were nice and sweet and a huge portion. I'll be back for sure, maybe I'll try the onion rings or real ice cream shakes. If you haven't visited, I'd recommend it.

whoa I can't believe I have not written about the joys of this place! I've been here on the rare special days that I treat myself to some naughty burgers and onion rings... Malts- get out! shut the front door- you might have to wait for a spot at counter or if it's a nice day and you're like me and can walk there- go for it! Nothing like sitting outside and enjoying some lemonade whiilest you lick your chops waiting for your burger and rings to arrive.

awesome. go there now if you haven't been. burgers are stupid good. Try the St. Helena burg, you'll dig it. Great options, always good beef, buns are fresh and tasty. Good chicken sandwiches too, for those that dont eat the cow. (poor souls...) Shakes are fantastic! choco-pnut butter shake is to die for. super thick, hand scooped, big! fries are extra, but worth it, and one small order is plenty to share. Cool old diner bar, with seating outside. The only gripes could be the lack of seating, as the place fills up quick, and the service isn't wonderful... but it's a burger bar, for crying out loud, not a 5 star restaurant. Overall, its a winner!

Headed to Santa Rosa on business this morning and looked up burger places in Santa Rosa. This one appeared to have the highest praise. I was looking for a more filling and traditional burger that a fast food McDonalds type. Pulled up to the place...quite small and looks a bit dingy from the outside...looks like it's been there a while (which is always a good sign). Walked inside to find a diner style seating area with lots of stools along the counter which encircles the registar and other things. Took a look at the menu and with a touch choice I decided on the one with applewood bacon, jack cheese and guacamole. I also added garlic mushrooms too it. Also snagged a large order of the shoestring fries. Have to tell you, this was one of the best burgers I have had in recent memory. The burger was good sized (probably a 1/3 pound or so), it was cooked to perfection...nice and pink on the inside and they didn't skimp on the toppings. Two nice slices of bacon, a heaping amount of what looked and tasted like homemade guacamole and a smoothering of mushrooms. They also added a lot of toppings on the side (good amound of red onions, pickles, tomatoes and lettuce). The fires were good if not a bit better than good...not to mention they give you a ton for the price. A large was $2.79 if I recal and it was plenty for two hungry adults. I would get the small next time as I left about 1/4 of them behind. Prices are right in line for what you would pay for a quality burger...I think it was $7.49. They had many other burger choices that made me salivate including a humboldt fog blue cheese burger as well as a few others. This will be a definite stop for me next time I am up here in November.

Found Superburger just by (good) luck on the way back from Calistoga. Great food - big ol' juicy burgers with all the fixins, fries and onion rings, and amazing shakes. Plus, super friendly service. A great Sunday afternoon treat.

this place has great burgers! the onion rings are really good too. it's a pretty small place with a quaint old diner feel, so there's not that much seating. the last couple of times we ate here, we've taken it to go and the fries have been soggy. not sure if it's just because of that, but i prefer a crispier fry. the chili dog is really great also.

One of the Top Ten burgers in Santa Rosa for over 20 years. Not the best burger you've ever had, but worth a visit simply for the small town diner atmosphere, a genuine blast from the past. This place is about to change hands, so if you want the real original Superburger experience, get your butt over here now.

I have been twice and both visits have been great. I have sat outside both times and have enjoyed the experience, even though the last visit was unusually warm outside, it was still very pleasant. The food is good. Juicy hamburgers with an abundance of condiments. The drinks were good but a bit too much ice and not enough drink. The server was prompt and courteous. I will return!!!

Let me start off by saying that I eat a lot of burgers and enjoy trying small independently owned burger spots. Because of this I thought that Superburger would be right up my ally. After reading some of the other reviews on here I came to find out that there is a condiment bar here. I had no idea that this existed because I sat outside and even though the inside was completely empty the waitress didn't bother thinking I might want to use the condiments. I ordered the burger that had garlic mushrooms on it. This burger sucked. The mushrooms were very bad and I had a hard to bringing myself to eat it. I think some of there other burgers would probably be alright but the one I got was not up to par. It might not be fair to review this place based on that item but the service wasn't great either.

Their charcoaled burgers are great. And I don't eat burgers usually. I ate here twice with different people. We were in agreement...mmmm good. No grease, just good quality. Yes, it's a tiny hole in the wall, but with darn good burgers. A well kept secret in Santa Rosa. Price is great too.

I had been to Superburger a few times over the years. The burgers were pretty good but the staff was always grouchy. Decided not to go back. Who needs to pay for grouchy!?! I heard that they were under new ownership a few months ago so I decided to give them another chance. I've been back 6 times in the past 2 months. The burgers are outstanding (big, juicy, the bacon is thick and cooked just right), the fries are fresh and tasty, you can get a cherry coke, and the staff actually seems happy that you came in to have lunch. It's tight in there and with only one waitress it can get hectic but she does her best and does it with a smile. Highly recommended!

hands down, the best burger joint in town. Funky, retro atmosphere...yes small, but that is the charm. If it's nice outside there are a few outdoor tables which are nice. What makes this place 5 Stars for me is the details. They use freshly baked buns from Franco-American bakery....locally made, hearty buns that stand up to the burger but are soft enough so the burger doesn't slide out when you take a bite. They always cook the burger just as I've asked. The milk shakes are amazing, made with real ice cream. The fries, tater tots, onion rings are always PIPING hot and crispy. They have lots of interesting burgers and amazing hot dogs too (the hot dogs are on Franco-American bakery buns too). Prices are reasonable, even more reasonable when you note that the portions are extremely generous. The staff has always been friendly as well. I used to go to the old superburger when it was Gayles - my son and I used to go nearly every Friday, and we loved the atmosphere and didn't mind the cranky waitress b/c she was always nice to us. We were a bit wary when they changed owners, but I concur with everyone else who has said that the new superburger is a definite improvement over the old.

I used to come here all the time when I worked down the street and I think it has been about 2 years since the last time I was there. So, when my sister and I had a long day of shopping we decided to go to Superburger to refill our tanks. I noticed a big difference as soon as I walked in there were several spaces on the counter where previous customers had eaten and their dirty trays had not been cleared away and looked like they had been sitting there for sometime. Now mind you we got there at around 5:30 so still early and there weren't very many people there at all. We placed our orders, we both ordered the cheeseburger with a side of fries. Fries are separate. The waitress delivered my sisters burger her fries and my fries and no burger?? WTF... I don't want to eat cold fries with my burger. It took a good 5-7 minutes for my burger to arrive. While I was waiting for my burger the waitress was making two shakes for some other customers and that's when I was like I don't know if I even want to eat my burger now. The malt machine was coated in several layers of multiple milkshakes that had been made through out the day and was never wiped down. Totally nasty. While she was making the shakes she took a spoon out of a equally nasty cup of water to stir the shakes with. When she was done just as i suspected she neglected to wipe down the machine. A few minutes later another waitress came along and made her shakes on that nasty dirty machine. YUK. Also while i was watching this spectacle I notices alot of junk piled up under the counter such as half rotten bananas and other random weird crap that shouldn't be under the counter in a dinner. When my burger finally arrived it was okay. Not the burgers I was so fond of back in the day. Superburger needs to get their act together and clean up a little bit and I might be back.

Best burgers ever!!! The place is very small inside, and outside are just like 4 tables, so if you're a big group don't even think about it. If it's just you or a partner is great! I ate the chairbroiled hamburger and it was SO DELICIOUS!!! The taste of the beef feels like not poor quality, considering the price, and the bun was very nice. Mostly, I'd prefer other food over burgers, but these burgers really are worth it! My husband loves burgers and he agreed with me that these burgers are delicious. The service is great, I love when waiters don't harass you every second and you can actually enjoy your meal. So, best place ever! About the place itself, I'd say I really like it. It seems to be very local and nothing like the commercial chains you find every corner. nice place! We would definitely return soon

I have driven past this restaurant several times but never stopped. My boyfriend and I decided to try it on a Saturday for lunch. It was pretty busy but we got a seat right away (location is small). I ordered the grilled chicken and cheese sandwich with bbq sauce and my boyfriend got a bacon cheese burger and the half and half of the onion rings and fries. The portions were big and we couldn't finish the fries/onion rings. My chicken sandwich was tastey and the onion rings were very good. The fries were a little too done for me and tasted dry but it wasn't a deal breaker for me. We noticed a lot of people were ordering milk shakes but we were too full to get one so the next day we came back and my boyfriend got a chocolate milk shake -definitely worth it! Good atmosphere and they even have a map of where people came around the world to visit! I will definitely be coming back next time I'm in Santa Rosa!

Maybe best chocolate shake, ever. Definitely one of the best burgers I've eaten. And, it's a fer real old California road-side burger stand that's been lovingly maintained. You want burger. You want shake. Go there now. ...fries? er, not so much.

Superburger is simple, consistent, and damn good. I drop by here a few times a year and have a small classic burger and the best onion rings in the city. Small tables outside and a dozen seats around a counter inside. When I went yesterday they had the option of wild boar and grass fed beef. Getting high class on us...

  • Jessica D.

Every burger here is great. I personally love the McDonald best. I get it rare which makes the already juicy burger juicier. Another great thing about this place is that you can mix whichever flavor of ice cream you want for their milkshakes. They have so many flavors I had to sit there for a good 10 min deciding my first time. I recommend the toffee crunch mixed with caramel swirl. Droooool. The only 2 downsides: there isn't much seating (so try not to go during peak meal times) and the onion rings have a lot of batter and oil on them. They don't seem to bother anybody else I go with so it could just be me. I like to take out of towners here. They always seem interested in the elk or lamb burger. Overall, a great place to get a hearty meal!

My boyfriend and I stopped in here because of the yelp reviews, and we were blown away. Best burger either of us have ever had. The butterfinger shake and onion rings are to die for. We don't live in the area, but we will definitely make the trip to come up here and eat again!

Delicious greasy American food complete with a 1970's counter and homemade milkshakes I stopped by for a late lunch, but the place was still packed and we had to wait a few minutes for a spot at the counter. The wait was worth it and we were rewarded with some of the best onions rings I've ever had and a delicious burger. I went for the classic cheese with bacon, and the bacon was extra crispy, just how I liked it, and they cooked the burger the perfect medium rare like I asked. Service was friendly and efficient. Other patrons at the counter were nice too, so don't be afraid of the communal counter seating. No parking lot, but parking in the neighborhood wasn't hard.

Superburger is one of the best burgers around. Today I had the Montecito Avenue Burger. Comes with guac, bacon and fixins. Very tasty medium rare. I would definitely make the time to go. they are very busy, but service is prompt and friendly.

  • Gary A.

What is not to like? Great burgers, great fries and great shakes. Old fashion, sit-at-the-counter place that feels like you are back in the 1970's. They leave the condiments out on the counter, so you can pile on all the onions and relish you want (if that is your thing). The counter inside is not what you would call "intimate." It is basically three sides of a square so you can see everyone and vice versa. I am not super tall (5' 11") but the stools are a little close to the counter for my taste (it is not terrible). If the weather is nice, sit outside. BTW, don't go if you are dieting. Did I mention the burgers are great?

I love this place. Great staff and Delicious burgers!!!! What more could you really ask for from a food joint! When they say "super burgers" they aren't kidding! They are big juicy deliciousness on a bun. Seating is limited (it's worth the wait) and parking can be tricky also.

  • Mary Lou M.

Wow. It is true. These are the best burgers! I especially like it when they have the red Angus beef available. It is even better and I do not bother with a lot of toppings then to distract me from the flavor. I order mine medium rare which is a nice juicy pink inside. Other favorites are the McDonald burger with garlic mushrooms, blue cheese and artichoke heart mayo. Then there is the St Helena burger that is super too. Fries are fine but I come for the beef.

  • Dominique F.

Super tasty. Super fresh. Super belly (at the end of the meal). Superburger was a hit with me on a recent visit. I dare say that the lamb burger on the menu easily beat out the regular ol' cow offering, in terms of insane deliciousness. There are great side orders to choose from and a selection of milkshakes to push your daily caloric intake into the 4 digits easily. Be prepared to come with the intention to devour everything in sight, because if the portion sizes here can satisfy the huge lumberjacks who were seated outside, you'll be happily stuffed. Prices are very decent for a lunchtime meal, and the staff know to keep the food coming fast to the tables, as there is seemingly a never-ending line of hungry patrons waiting for their feast!

Tonight was awesome. Food was on point. So happy that I was not asked to move over. I'm glad we decided to go again. Really hesitant from my last experience. Glad to say that waitress wasnt working. (Evil eye) Mint oreo shake is so yummy. McDonald Avenue burger is fantastic. If you love garlic and mushrooms this is the burger.

Super Burger is an institution for the burger loving carnivores of Santa Rosa, and for good reason. Extremely fresh ingredients (overheard the waitress say they bring in the beef daily), A+ staff and service, interesting specials (elk burger was on today!), and no nonsense decorations make this a great a great place to grab a burger. They have tons of toppings and a delicious BBQ sauce that you can get cooked right on your burger or without. I also appreciate the condiments being all out on the lunch counter so that you can dress your burger how you like. I do suggest even if you like your burger done through to order medium well instead of well, they can be a little Cajun style if you order well. But still delicious. Now, if you are feeling particularly naughty I definitely suggest a milk shake. They are perfection with deep chocolate and luscious vanilla. My favorite is the peanut butter chocolate that uses an obscene amount of skippy peanut butter. Great for take out, great for eat in. It isn't fancy or fine dining but it is the BEST!

Servers at this hole in wall were very rude walked in did not care to acknowledge we were even there, this place is small and servers are in the middle and u sit on outside the bar like a horse shoe. U have to wait and watch who's leaving to get a seat, worse place ever would never go back. The food was good the sloppy waitress's made that place a 0. They made me and my family feel as if we didn't belong there. My money is green 2 , if your looking for good food go back down town to Mary's Pizza. They treat you right the first time .

Tasty tasty cheeseburger plain and simple if you don't count the nice touch of BBQ sauce and the strip of bacon my wife may have let me borrow off her chicken burger. Both were done perfectly and juicy. Had a hard time keeping mine on the bun! Tots were crispy and fresh plus they will give you ranch or BBQ sauce for dipping. Both of the wait staff were friendly and on it. Only minor annoyance was a pesky fly.

Went back in here the other day and have a few more updates to the review. First of all, this place is very very small, and always has been. But they do maximize what they have. There are maybe a dozen and a half chairs around the bar and about that many chairs outside under cover of umbrella. Although the location is on busy 4th street, the outside chairs are tucked away nicely on St. Helena and you don't really get the full onslaught of the traffic you might expect. There are 12 or so burger selections with 4-5 options per Burger. Everything is a la carte. So plan on spending $20 if you're ordering a big burger, onion rings/ sweet potato fries and a drink plus tip. $20 might be a lot to pay for a burger experience for some. But here, truthfully, you can skip the sides. The burger is a meal and a half in and of itself. If you king size it, you're definitely not going to leave hungry. The fries, onion rings, and sweet potato come in regular and super sized. The regular is what I imagine 2 supersizes would be at a fast food joint. Plan on a 1/2 hour experience here at least. Bring a book. It's not slow by any means. But the burger will come out at restaurant pace. I'm not one for milk shakes anymore, but I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that they have 35-40 milk shake options/flavors. So definitely keep that in mind. More than adequate service. Charming, prompt, you're never kept waiting. There's usually one hard working cook, so you might be waiting 20 minutes for your burger. But it's worth it. They have a lamb burger, and a couple veggie options including veggie burger and grilled cheese sandwich. They have chicken sandwiches too.

I went to superburger for the first time today. It's a cute corner joint with history. They have old photos hanging in the restaurant that make it really towny. We got burgers from their list of creative street named burgers. They were charbroiled and delicious. The bacon was thick, long slices. Guacamole was yummy too! Not to mention the delicious onion rings. The fries were just okay, I would go for the onion rings. I don't love onions, but I loved these. They also had tons of flavor choices for their hand mixed shakes. Mint Oreo Shake was yummy, and so was my root beer float. The sides are sold separate, which made the meal a little expensive for a burger place. Their creative combos are worth the trip though.

Must say what a gem I found with my buddy in Santa Rosa! The waiter, i believe is the owner, was very attentive and amiable. I love how this place brings the classic, old fashioned image of a hamburger restaurant with a great atmosphere. The service was very fast and my buddy and I were greeted with two different kinds of house made sauces. I order a classic cheese burger with sweet potatoe fries. Everything melted in mouth as I was devouring my food. One caveat is the bbq sauce in my burger. Im not a big fan of bbq sauce and was not notified that almost all the burgers have bbq sauce. The homemade bbq sauce was way better than other bbq sauces that I had before. Thank you so much Super Burger for an amazing experience and We will come back again, looking for more surprises!

This place has the best burgers in Santa rosa, perhaps even all of Sonoma County. Others may complain about greasy food but that's what a good burger is all about! You want a less greasy burger? Go to McDonalds. Their onion rings are also great, we usually get 1/2 onion rings and 1/2 sweet potato fries. The ambiance is old fashioned soda bar and very clean. Always have had superb service. This is the place we go for a special treat. I can't recommend it enough.

Bring your appetite! Superburger is easily the best burger in town. Don't be afraid to go deep into the menu because just about everything they make is excellent. It can be packed during peak hours so if you can find yourself the time on a weekday afternoon, that's your best bet. I lived within walking distance of this place for about 5 years and never once bothered to try it. Unfortunately I will have to live with that fact for the rest of my life...

We were trying to find a place that we have never been to and DAMN! We found a good one. It gives off a warm old fashion local spot feeling that a lot of places can't give these days. The waiter took the time to tell us about the menu and even went through what was in every burger. Would come back and recommend to anyone.

There is no better burger in Sonoma County. Period. Several options of meats including venison, boar, and elk (subject to availability) and several choices of toppings. My personal favorites are the St. Helena- burger with onion rings, bacon, cheddar and BBQ sauce and the Monteciti- bacon, Jack, guacamole and BBQ sauce. Can't decide between fries and rings? Get half and half- you won't be sorry. Their rings are fantastic. Light and golden crispy and flavorful. No fewer than 20 flavors of shakes and malts. When you want to have a heck of a meal- this is the place.

One by one tried all the burger places in Santa Rosa and the surrounding cities. Superburger was next on my list. Location was ready to spot, parking wasn't a hassle. It's a small burger shop, some seating outside. We ate in doors. I ordered their standard burger, didn't want to be too adventurous, always medium-well. When the burger came out, it looked good...except the buns were toasted way too long. It was hard. As in choke hazard hard. The patty was decent, no complaints there. For sitting inside there were way too many flies. I had to keep swatting at them throughout the meal. Anyway, i thought it was an okay burger, definitely not top tier. Price was on part wuth what you'd exist for a burger that size. I wouldn't come back here however. It just wasn't as good as the reviews suggested. Solid 3 stars. 3.5 if it were possible.

  • Todd B.

Where to start? Their burgers are freaking huge!!!! And they have so many milkshake flavors you could probably have a different one each day for at least a week!!!! It has a diner atmosphere (small and cozy) think barstools next to the kitchen, as well as outdoor seating. That have organic grass fed burgers which are quite tasty (although I couldn't tell the difference) This may seem like not a big deal, but they have crushed ice versus cubed ice for sodas, so it tastes almost like a frozen coke (which I love) if you're into burgers definitely try the bacon cheese burger with BBQ sauce: you won't regret it. This place has plenty of side street parking too

    (5)
  • Jayare D.

One word, OVERRATED!! The burgers were dry and tasteless and the idiots who worked here ruined my order. But, one star for great tots and delicious Peanut Butter milk shake! Lol My advice, dodge the burger recipe!

First of all this location is very small, but it is very nice. There however is not a lot of parking. Our food was really good. I got the spring street burger which was amazing. It had one of the best Pedro's I have ever had. My fiancée had the McDonald avenue burger. She got the smaller version that is available. She said the toppings were good, but the burger was a little over charred for her tastes. The sweet potato fries were good. Some fries were slightly over crispy though. I enjoyed my meal though. Service was good for a small joint.

Note: If you can eat anything, like Andrew Zimmern on the Bizarre Foods TV show, then skip this review... Superburger is WAY too greasy for me. My pal John & I ate here last night. We were both Superburger virgins and had no expectations. Well, that was a good thing. We entered the completely full place, I hesitate to call it a restaurant. It's a horseshoe shaped counter with stools - It's a joint. The small crowd were all chowing down on their humongous size burgers & fries. A miasma of fryer grease was in the air. Everything in the place is coated with it. John sensibly ordered the lamb burger. I brought ensuing calamity on myself with the order of the St. Helena (Meat patty, cheese, bacon, onion rings, salad toppings, BBQ sauce). 10 minutes later the meaty monsters were placed before us. My burger stood 13 inches tall, I pulled the fried onion rings out and squashed the sandwich down so I could attempt to insert it into my mouth. I was partially successful, meaning I got a lot of it on my face. I already declared it was too greasey for my senior citizen constitution. But out of hunger and journalistic integrity I did eat the whole damn thing. And my judgment is that just about anyone with a backyard grill can make a better burger. Certainly a more healthy one with less fat and oil content. I've had much better burgers at many other higher scale restaurants in Santa Rosa (Stark's, Tony & Jacks) that cost no more than Superburger. Even John wholeheartedly agreed that his lamb burger was just too damn greasy. Superburger crows about being the Bohemian weekly newspaper 2012 reader's poll winner for best hamburger. Well, I don't know what the criteria is for the award, perhaps the highest calorie count. My faith in the populist opinion poll of the Bohemian certainly has diminished a notch or three. My wife says I should return and have a plain ole burger with the grass fed beef or the wild boar meat. I'll pass.

Excellent service , slaw, sweet tater fries. Go big on nuggets to split. What a great place.

Only reason I knew about the place was thanks to my co-workers. We were hungry for a good burger and one suggested SuperBurger. My first visit was 5 years ago and all I said was 'Wow', definitely the best burger I had no doubt. Fast forward today, I've been going to this place since 2010 and it never fails in terms of service and quality. Today I opted for the Spicy Buffalo Chicken sandwich and it surpasses my standards. The onion rings and fries are good and not a let down. They have lots of choices and I intend to order something different every visit. A salute and High five to this local establishment.

I've been here many times and each time was consistent with the last. Great burgers, friendly service, awesome little place all around. I just had the McDonald avenue burger and it was awesome. All the other times, i had the juicy lamb burger. Always rare, it's just the way to go. 5 out of 5 Superburger! There were flies flying around but it was totally worth sitting around with them to eat delicious food. I also suggest eating at the restaurant instead of taking it home. Tastes better since it is fresh off the grill.

Best burger yet! Even my husband agrees who is a burger snob so to speak. They make your food to order all it's hot and fresh! The fries were great and the home made milk shakes were delicious. If you want a real messy and delicious burger? Go to this cute hole in the wall. You won't regret it. We are definitely going here again!

Hands down the BEST burgers I've EVER tasted! I don't know anyone else that can cook a medium-well burger and have it come out so juicy and full of flavor--it's like a gourmet hamburger. My only gripe is that when they are busy, they won't answer the phone and if you show up 1 hour before closing time, they may tell you they sold out at the door. BTW, the staff is extremely nice and courteous -- old fashion great service! I give this place my highest recommendation.

This is an "original" a real Burger Place! I patronize this place because I enjoy the quality of their burgers, the friendliness of their staff and the customers who frequent this treasure. This is a busy place during lunch, and for good reason, so have patience, they will take care of you. Superburger has character and some interesting customers who are some very unique character's! The price for this experience is a far better value than you could ever find anywhere else, especially when compared to the French Laundry.

Tasty, charbroily cheeseburger. I got the small and it was PLENTY big enough -- for this 5'2 female at least. It's WELL done unless otherwise requested which is just fine by me. Skip the fries, they were flavorless...although the racoons in my yard did love them. Tiny little place, super busy around lunchtime midweek. Service was ridiculously slow. Would not recommend it to anyone attempting to go on a work lunch break. Impressively extensive handmade shake bar which ill have to imbibe in on my next visit...and yes, there will be a next visit. Totally would give this a 4 if the service was better.

  • Kristopher E.

Burgers here are excellent! I have only had the plain cheeseburger here so I can't say much about the "specialty" burgers. The tater tots are a definite must as well. Service has always bee good both times I have been there. If you are going to sit outside (as we did) be aware that the flies can be a bit annoying.

Short Version: If I could eat here everyday and not die of a grisly heart attack, I would. Everything here is superlative: they have the friendliest staff, the finest onion rings, the thickest milkshakes, and, most importantly, the best burgers. If you're going to eat here, allow me to suggest the McDonald Ave. Burger. It comes with a delicious mix of blue cheese, mushrooms, and gartichoke (garlic and artichoke) sauce, all hot and melded together. Fair warning though, things get messy! Service: I eat here regularly, and I once witnessed two waitresses go above and beyond. A young man came in to pick up a large order for him and his friends. When it came time to pay, it turned out that he was short. (Clearly some of his friends had forgot to include tax and tip when they handed him cash.) The waitresses looked at each other, and said, "Don't worry about it. We'll just take it out of the tip jar." They smiled and handed him the food. Ambiance: The physical space of the Santa Rosa restaurant is TINY. Personally, I think that this adds to the charm. Inside seating consist of a bar that wraps around where the servers work. The back of the room is where the cook works, so you can smell all of the tasty food as it's being made to order. More Detail on Food: +All of their burgers are good, but the specialty burgers shine. They're also quite large. and I've never left hungry. If you want a smaller burger, they offer a Town and Country version of their specialty burgers. +In addition to a grass-fed beef option, they also have a daily specials like venison or wild boar. Both are fantastic. +The onion rings are fresh, hot, and amazing. They're seriously the best onion rings I've ever had. +They have a long list of milkshake flavors, and each milkshake is quite large.

PEOPLE! Where is it you have eaten other burgers? These burgers are at best just shy of ok................Come on can you say overrated

  • Don P.

I'm giving Superburger five stars because they deliver precisely what they are expected to do: outstanding hamburgers with more excellent condiments than most other restaurants have ever seen. They also offer a couple very high-end beef alternatives if you've gotten your bonus check this month. Other reviewers have already nailed the many reasons to visit, so I will add praise for their great rolls from Franco American Bakery in Santa Rosa. Too many chefs agonize over burger fat content, etc., but forget about the rolls, not Superburger. And thanks for that! The large-size servings of onion rings are almost too much for two people, so be advised. Lovely server, superb ice cream from Oregon, and we can't wait for a return meal. Classic 1950s setting well worth the trip.

Sorry I know the locals love this place and I am from out of town but overall the experience was just OK. On the plus side the service is excellent and the onion rings outstanding. Now the bad, it is a burger place right? Well the burger was good but nothing great. the beef in my opinion was overworked so somewhat tough. If you need a quick bite this place will suffice but in no way should you go out of your way to get here.

Super Burger not so super. The wait staff was friendly, however the waitress hurried me quickly through my order as if I was annoying her. The bun is what I think made it hard to eat . It was chewy. The bacon was way over done , so was the meat, and the cheese seemed burnt. It could have been better, I see potential. I would try again.Fry's were soggy. Always a huge disappointment. Onion rings were good.

Went here with a friend last week for lunch for the first time and I thought it had a very relaxed and comfortable ambience. Cute little burger joint, I like how it is set up. The burgers here are awesome - juicy, messy, and delicious. Staff was super friendly and welcoming. Only complaint.. It was so cold in there with all those fans on. Definitely recommend it though.

I used to think Mikes in Cotati was the best burger i've ever had. And i've had Burgers all over the world. Mikes no longer cuts the yellow brown spicy stuff. The only way to describe the food here, other than amazing. Is traditional. It tastes exactly like you would expect a god damn burger to taste. No bells and whistles, no smoke and mirrors, no ingredients i can't pronounce or question how it was aquired. Just straight up business. Traditional Sodas are great too. Just talking about this place makes me want to flip my desk over, jump through the narrow glass window beside my office door, punch the first 3 other employees i see and then haul ass all the way to Santa Rosa to be assaulted from all angles of the delicious burgers here. Parking sucks ass. But worth the bullshit.

Service is amazing. Staff is really friendly, quick, and helpful. The burgers and apple pie shake were awesome! We will definitely be back! Can't believe we waited so many years to try this place! Ventilation for a small place using a grill is incredible! Never felt smoky inside with the grill going.

Stopped in for a quick bite to eat. At first I was out off by the lack of seating space. But everyone seemed to enjoy it so I gave it a shot. Boy was I missing out! I had the Spring Street Pesto Bacon Cheeseburger with a side of onion rings. HUGE. Staff was super friendly. I will deff be back!

Saw this place on my way out to Sonoma today and decided that I would come back to try it out on my way back. For some reason, over those couple of hours, my appetite for hamburgers went way up. And, when I walked in, I knew the place would be great. It just screams burger shop. But not just your greasy, crappy burger, GOOD burger. I ordered the cheeseburger and specified jack cheese. It was cooked exactly to spec and came with all the fix-ins. The gal brought over something she called "the tray" (I think?) and I helped myself to a bunch of extra things for my burger. The fries were great, as well! Not too thick like many places do them. Overall, $14 for a burger, fries, and a coke isn't cheap, but I would stand by the notion that it's well worth the money. Try this place out! You certainly won't be let down.

Definitely the best burger I have had in a very long time! And...they had a small version for me so that I didn't have to throw away half of my meal! Awesome! 3 sizes of burgers for three sizes of appetites!

We agree that Superburger has the best burgers in the county. Some of the fine dining restaurants come close, but for a burger, in a burger joint, Superburger can't be beat. Our favorites are the St. Helena Ave Burger with Onion rings, Bacon, Cheddar, & BBQ Sauce and the McDonald Ave Burger with Garlic Mushrooms, Blue Cheese, pureed roasted garlic, and artichoke heart mayo.

    (5)
  • Carolina H.

I've had Gott's burgers and raved about them all the time. Superburger will do the same for me too. This time instead of to go order, I ate in to experience an counter eatery where you can see the kitchen live in action. I ordered the McDonald burger and enjoyed every bite of the (menu states) "Savory garlic mushrooms, warm blue cheese and drizzled with pureed roasted garlic and artichoke heart mayo. This could get messy!" So true to their words! The best just like Gott's (dubbed Best in the West by local and national magazines alike).

  • Aubree B.

Serious disappoint! Dine here on a Friday evening. We paid 2 bucks extra for the local grass fed beef and it was so bland, the buns were chewy and way too small for the burger, served dry...you add your fixings that come on the side...cheap ice burg lettuce, red onions, and a slice of tomato that looked a day old. Onion rings and fries were nothing special...tasted like the per made frozen kind. The milk shake was really good, but that was about it. Sorry to been so mean, but come on, what happen? Your reviews were so good...what's up Santa Rosa don't you know what a good burger is suppose to taste like???

I had heard so many rave reviews about this place, I thought I would give it a try. I ordered a milkshake and cheeseburger, figuring I couldn't go wrong. I have a thing about under cooked ground beef, so naturally I asked for my burger to be well done. The place was so crowded that there was nowhere to sit, so I opted to get my order to go. After an extensive wait, lots of noise and flies, I was handed my burger. My shake had been long since forgotten in the shuffle. Not wanting to wait, I said nevermind to the shake and went home, eagerly anticipating this wonderful burger everyone crooned over. I took a bite to discover a lump of ground cow so undercooked that it was still the temperature of the fridge. I am not certain that it had even touched the grill. I should have gone back, or at least called to complain, but frankly the thought of wading through the crowd and noise for either a refund or new burger was simply unbearable. The place should be renamed Rawburger. I don't think I'll be back.

This is not a gourmet burger joint, but it's the best place for a well-made classic burger with all the trimmings. It's just slightly out of range of downtown so parking spots are available. Last time I was in I ordered the onion rings and they were amazing. Not too greasy and slightly sweet!

McDonald ave burger is the best burger I have ever had! This is the benchmark. Tip if your hungry order two town and country burgers! The black bean burger is absolutely out of this world!!

I recently visited Superburger during their lunch hour and ordered: St. Helena Avenue Burger: contained onion rings, applewood bacon, cheese and their famous BBQ sauce. I am definitely a fan of the BBQ sauce and the onion rings, but the burger, itself, was really difficult to eat because it was so big. The price for the burger was on the more expensive side and they did not include fries, but it was worth it if you are craving a more gourmet burger. Giant Half & Half to share (2 sides): We had the shoestring fries and the sweet potato fries which were both really good and piping hot. They were very addicting and worth the cost for the amount of fries that you get. Chocolate and Peanut Butter Shake: was really really good. It tasted like a McDonald's McFlurry except better. It was very fluffy and creamy and it seemed like a Recess peanut butter cup milk shake with real ice cream. Overall, this restaurant is a classic burger joint that serves good burgers but not the best that I have ever had. It is a really small place inside and quite loud but the outside seating made up for it. However, while my friend and I were enjoying our burgers and we were attacked by yellow-jackets and could not completely enjoy our meal. If you are craving a gourmet burger I would suggest this place, but if you want something more worth your money and good I would suggest In-and-Out.

We love superbuger. Favorite spot to get a hamburger! But lately it's been rather disappointing and it's really unfortunate! We usually order to go nowadays, but they rarely answer the phone. The past few times we've eaten there or actually got through on the phone, they surely dissappoint us with the food. I order my burger well done and it comes out dripping pink. One of our burgers was the St. Helena burger, which bbq sauce is one of its main staples, and it was given to us with a very, very small dollop of sauce on it. Probably the size of a nickle. With our past experiences we've become pretty hesitant to order anymore...so sad because we know this place can be great! The milkshakes are usually good too but when I ask for chocolate, give me chocolate! Last one was very light and was almost vanilla. :p Step it up superburger! :-/

  • C. Y.

Pretty dang good. Their menu is definitely unique, and they craft some amazing burgers. Their BBQ sauce was so good, I wanted to steal the whole bottle and take it home. One star off is because it's sort of a hole-in-the-wall joint...if you're into that sort of thing, this totally works, but I'll admit that I'm a bit of a food diva and I prefer nicer, more restaurant type places. The decor and vibe is pretty cool, though. We'll be back!

Came here with the family on a nice Saturday morning. It was busy but the staff was attentive and we were seated after only a couple minutes. Wow - I gotta say I'm in love. The burgers here are thick, juicy and full of flavor. The shakes as well; sweet, creamy and finger lickin' good. OH MY! Honestly, a very good burger joint. We tried the McDonald Ave & the Montecito Ave, both excellent. Close quarters here but it is clean and the staff is great. Bonus for the condiment/pepper bar.

The ONLY problem I have with the burgers is that there's no avocado. Guacamole is okay. But, plain avocados are better. :). The waiters were very nice, and our cups of beverage were never empty.

Came here after a long day of not wanting to cook, and having been to the Super-burger in Penngrove, I somehow thought this one would be the same caliber. Unfortunately, I was mistaken. The waitress was not very friendly, and not very helpful in explaining to us that although their menus were the same, they were owned by different people and the food was different. Undaunted, we ordered the McDonald Ave burgers, mine with chicken and lettuce instead of a bun, which awesomely she didn't even bat an eye at. The Sweet potato fries were super greasy, soggy, and sticky, and totally different from what I remember in penngrove. I did enjoy mixing wing sauce and the garlic sauce to make an awesome dip-it for the fries, but that was about the best part of the experience. The setup is awkward, with many prep spaces in front of you. As tall people, neither of our legs fit under the counter, so we had to maneuver the seating precariously. I have had their milkshakes at the other location, which come in a ton of awesome flavors, but after the mediocre burgers we had, we opted for a soft serve cone across the street at foster's freeze instead. I felt like overall, Penngrove was much better, more friendly and more inviting. I did think that the food was like the waitress said, similar but different, and for that, I say just blaze your own trail! Probably not going back, would rename to Pretty OK Burger.

This place is so unbelievably good, they have effectively ruined every other burger joint for me. Try the onion rings and a milkshake before you leave as well, they're to die for.

  • Ryan L.

It's hard to find a place that serves a good burger anymore. There's a few mom and pop burger joints in Sonoma county that do the job but SuperBurger killed it! They don't go all out on toppings, like some places, and kept it simple to enjoy the flavor of the meat and add only what's necessary. We both had the Montecito Burgers, which including applewood bacon, guacamole, lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. They place the grass-fed beef on top of a barbecue sauce smothered to the bottom of the burger and it... was... tasty! Come with an appetite to chow down on burgers and fries but be ready to drop about $15-$20 per person. Our only complaint was that they didn't have all the choices of meat - wild boar and venison were not available. However, they did have grass-fed, regular, and american kobe.

Most of the time, you want to match flavor and health. You watch those calories, trim the fat, eat steamed vegetables. Then, once in a while, you just want a luscious, juicy, giant burger so full of sauce and deliciously unhealthy mojo that you'll dream about it for months to come! For the latter, you can't beat this place. Big portions, incredible flavors - sauces, meats, toppings. Across the board, stellar. And, the menu has a lot of cool options. For example, you can get a little half order on any of the really fancy burgers, and you can get a big "Half and Half" basket that's any combination of tater tots, fries, sweet potato fries, and onion rings. Indoor and outdoor seating, both pretty nice, but small and often very crowded. The milkshakes and malts alone are worth a trip! The only caveat is that the sandwiches are a little pricey for anything beyond the basics, and they don't come with the fries (etc.) by default. BUT, for the quality and quantity of everything you do get, it's more than fair.

We stopped in based on the reviews. I guess these folks always eat outside or have poor vision. This is the dirtiest restaurant I've ever been in. The burgers were overlooked and not fresh. They must use frozen patties. The fries were okay. The service was slow and completely lacking in quality. When we arrived we sat at their counter...none of the counter was clean. I gestured to the waitress who was cleaning up an I cream spill on the freezer on her side and she just ignored me. When our drinks were delivered I mentioned the counter was sticky. Nothing. When the burgers arrived I used the wipe to clean my hands that had touched the counter and tried to keep all food in the greasy basket. I took a few bites expecting that it must be the best burger in the world for people to put up with the filth and lack of service. Nope. Not even a C rating. Never going back.

Every time I'm in Santa Rosa this is a must stop. Best burgers around. Even though the seating is limited it is worth the wait. The Spring Street burger with pesto is my favorite. Add a side or onion rings and root beer shake for a great meal.

Seriously mine and all my friends burgers where bomb.com ! Me and my brother had almost gone here a few times, unfortunatly we went somewhere else. But not tonight and it was 2 good! The tots where so good! So the place is a little pricey and small on the inside. And only down side was finding a spot to sit. But once we got in out waitress, cheryl i think, was very helpfull and polite and pretty dang cute 2 :) The other waitress was a blonde girl and she was very nice and helpfull aswell. The chef killed it thoe. Many thanks again to him for the great meal

Superburger is true to its name: these burgers are nothing short of super. Step inside their small shack and go back in time when you plunk down at the counter. The servers are sure to call you "sweetie" or "honey" (heck, if you're lucky it might be both)! I got a charbroiled cheeseburger, shared a giant half & half (fries and onion rings) and washed it all down with a root beer (which was zealously refilled during my meal). From the buttery bun to the juicy meat slathered in just the right amount of Superburger recipe BBQ sauce, this cheeseburger was top notch. Fixings come on the side: lettuce, red onion and tomato. I ended up at Superburger after asking an employee at the nearby FedEx Office how it compared to In-N-Out. He seemed pretty insulted that I'd consider the two to be peers. And his description of the big, high quality Superburger convinced me I had to try it. I'm really glad I did. Superburger is on my Santa Rosa short list for sure!

Amazing!! Super delicious milkshakes with many favors that are from my experience great. Love the sweet potato fries. Burgers done to perfection. The service is always pleasant however a dress code is much needed. The only bad thing I have to say that brought them down to 4 stars is the atmosphere, or lack there of, is a little grungy for lack of a better word.

Greasy burger after standing for almost an hour while the lady behind the counter catered to a bunch of noisy teens taking their sweet time with milk shakes. It was irritating to watch while we stood and waited for a seat. I won't be back as I'm not interested in watching the lady behind the counter entertain her kids and their friends, then serve me a greasy burger and burnt sweet potato fries.

Hard to imagine that there is a better burger and shake in the Bay Area. We've tried most of them and Superburger is hands down the best. Just delicious. Kids' meals also rocked. We were in Santa Rosa for two days and went twice. And great service from Tod and Eddie! Open up in Oakland?

Ok the food is great but the noise level isn't. This is a problem that just won't go away due to the construction of this little restaurant. The last time we were here a bunch of Local Rustics came in and took over most of the counter space. One Minnie Pearl type smacked me in the head by accident with her purse as she reached over to grab a menu in front of me. Rude. The Yee Hawin' got pretty loud - and no one told them to keep it down - so my now deaf - wife (due to noise level) and I packed up our chow and hit the trail. Like I said previously the Food is Great but the acoustics aren't - or should I say Ain't! If the counter isn't crowded sit there - but if it is and weather permitting - eat outside it's a lot nicer.

Best burger place in town. The sauce is superb, and the outdoor seating is nice when the weather is pleasant. They have a lot of delicious shake flavors, made with real ice cream. Don't get fries or onion rings, get the fry-ring combo. Its still more of either than you could ever eat. Love the self service condiment trays so you can dress up your burgers however you like.

The best of the "mainstream" burger joints. First, it's a diner, not a space in a strip mall--big plus. Second, their ingredients are first-rate, best beef around, great condiments. Third, I love their buns (don't say this to the wrong person!). Not sure what they are, smaller, whole wheat I think. I don't like these huge hunks of bread you get at some burger vendors. Most important, they cook to specifications. Most places, I have to order "medium-rare" just to get something close to medium. Here the burgers come out MR. Only reason I take away a star is that the parking stinks, they're always crowded, and I hate places that charge you a fortune for a lousy fountain soda. In this case, it's $2.50. Do they think they're a multiplex???? Prices are reasonable. I take it back. Not just "mainstream".

It's the best burger that I have had in a long time. Really. Got the St. Helena king sized or whatever that terminology was called and crushed it. Split a thing of fries and sweet spuds and felt like a fat and happy kid. Was totally awesome. Service is friendly and efficient and the place is quaint and a step back into when it was created circa 1950's. Great place!

Sinful, yes very very sinful. This is a once in a while treat on a Sunday cheatday because if I ate like this on the regular I would be on the verge of a heart-attack/diabetic coma/so big a crane would be the only way I leave the house. So sinful. The 50/50 of fries and onion rings - perfect golden crispy oily crunchies The chilibuger- a burger drenched in chili and topped with a good ol' chedder cheese. Classic burger joint food. Shakes, fries, burgers and all deep fried and ready to clog your arteries. Hey if that's how you want to go out you're braver than I. Sinful and will stay on my once in a while list.

The original Superburger in Santa Rosa, has finally prepared the Best Patty between two slices of bun so far for me. The right combination of seasonings and meat and a grill that must be ancient because it turns out of a perfect burger for years. My favorite menu item a bacon blue cheeseburger with a basket of sweet potato fries and onion rings which I always split my wife and which I have to say is top notch. Add a friendly staff and an owner who wants to just make the best burger in town. I've been to a lot of other places, but this one is still the best place!

So far it's been my favorite burger spot in Santa Rosa. Burgers are char broiled with lots of flavor. They do really good shakes too. Diner style seating. Busy all the time. Enjoy!

I would like to give this place a better review but unfortunately the service is rather hit and miss. Last weekend my husband and I had our first experience and the McDonald Ave burger was great. We sat inside and had a great time checking out the décor. About 20 minutes ago we had a different experience. First of all, it is an amazing day and absolutely beautiful so we thought we'd sit outside. If only we hadn't.. Today was the Spring Street burger and it was quite tasty. Everything was fine until a few young people showed up and explained they had a group of people coming. Well, apparently they warranted more respect than I did, after all what is my measly $30 check?? God forbid I have an umbrella to keep me out of the sun because it was dragged away by an employee to shade the soon-to-be group that would get him a better tip. I am sorely disappointed that I wasn't given the human courtesy of being asked if I would mind being blasted by the sun for the remainder of my meal. Obviously he thought I was done and should leave. So we did. I will not be returning. The only reason I'm leaving 2 stars is purely for the burgers. If only I had experience better service and it would be 4 stars.

I ordered the king cheese burger and it was hands down one of the best burgers I've ever had. It was cooked perfectly! Also, the barbecue sauce they use was tasty. The staff was very friendly and fun.

I have to now update my review. After my first review I received a message from the owner of super burger apologizing for the mishap and asking if he could make a meal up to us:) I am very happy to know that local business owners do take customers concerns into consideration! This completely restored my faith in this place! Thank you William!

Good burger. I think I had the *Montecito* burger. It had Jack cheese, guag, and bacon on it...in addition to the basic tomato, onion, lettuce, and Superburger's signature BBQ sauce. -Apparently they put BBQ sauce on most if not all of their burgers. At first the thought of this kind of grossed me out. I'm not generally a fan of BBQ sauce on my burger. But their sauce was delish! It was just the perfect amount of tangy and sweet. It blended well with the flavors of the burger but didn't dominate. So surprise surprise! I now actually like BBQ sauce on my burgers! Crazy! I almost never change my mind about things like this. But that's how good the sauce was. I had a side of onion rings. They were great. Beer battered. And you could really taste the beer. The waitress got me some ranch to go with them. YUM! Also had a Banana milk shake. Banana wasn't specifically on the menu...but when I asked for it, the waitress said...yeah. I can make that for you. We have banana's. :) -THANK YOU!!! The down side to this place would be 2 things. 1. it's pretty small. And the stools that you sit on are anchored into place...a bit too close to the counter for my liking. You have to spread your legs and your knees will hit the counter and probably the person sitting next to you too. :( & 2. The price. We spent a little over $30 for two burgers, fries, onion rings, a coke and a shake. -Not wholly bad considering the quality. But not wholly good either. For that price I'm a little more inclined to say, "Let's go to Starks and get a kobe beef burger." Even so...this place is very charming. The food is good. And the service is nice. I will be back. :)

Santa Rosa is an unholy mess as far as urban planning and needs to have a serious talk with Googlemaps to update some street names. For the uninitiated, there is no 3rd Street exit off the 101 like the map shows. You'll want to take College and back track south and east to 4th street and then head east a couple of blocks. BUT, now that I've gotten lost in Santa Rosa, I know my way around pretty well, so it won't be a problem in future! Superburger reminds me of places I used to eat at when I was a kid in Kingsville, Texas. It totally qualifies as a hole in the wall, but a cute hole at that. Whoa, that sounded a little weird! Anyway, there are a few tables outside and then a horseshoe shaped counter on the inside with seating for maybe 20 to 30 people. Two super friendly, attentive waitresses work the counter while the cook is in the back doing his magic. SO, what about that magic? I ordered the regular burger well-done without barbecue sauce. If I go back again, I'll try the sauce, but my stomach was a little iffy today after the frustration of driving, so I decided to play it safe. It's a decent size burger with great seasoning on a toasted bun with the traditional lettuce, onion, and tomato. You can also add additional pickles, peppers, relish and various mustards and other toppings. I don't eat beef very often, but I really enjoyed the burger. My wife got the veggie burger which she said came from CostCo while my nephew got chicken nuggets which came from the same place. Hey, it's called SuperBURGER right, so stick with the regular burgers! Oh yeah, this is going to sound silly, but I really enjoyed the crushed ice in the soft drinks! That really took me back to Texas because it's hard to find crushed ice in California!

Great burgers. However, they are suffering from too much popularity. The space is too small, crowded and hot. This wasn't a problem when they would take orders for pick up over the phone, which they have apparently abandoned. So, if you want to wait :30 minutes for a decent burger, have at it. I'm going to Flip Side.

It's a funky little place. Barely any elbow room let alone leg room. But I'm not bothered by it because I know the burger I'm about it get is absolutely delicious. Fun milk shake concepts, great onion rings. I think the fries could be a little better seasoned and slightly less greasy. But I couldn't give these guys any less than five stars. Go for the St. Helena burger, bbq sauce and onion rings stacked reeeaaally high. If you don't think you can handle their portions ask for a "half-town" version of any of their burgers.

I don't go to Santa Rosa very often, but I was spending the day there recently and decided to check out Yelp to find something good to eat in the area. So we decided on Superburger, it was rated pretty favorably... First of all, this place is SUPER tiny! I was sitting at the counter closest to the sink and had to move because I felt like I was in the waitresses walkway. After reviewing the menu, I ordered the St. Helena burger. Bacon, Onion ring and BBQ sauce you can't go wrong, right? WRONG!!! It was horrible. The bacon was like shoe leather. That was a major turn off having to peel it open and remove the bacon. The rest of the burger...nothing to write home about, that's for sure! I've had better burgers at the Denny's in Vallejo! I felt the same way about the onion rings...blah blah blah... My hubby ordered the burger with garlic mushrooms on it. What a mess! His greasy garlicy bun was falling apart after the first bite. Not to mention the flavor was only ho-hum. Fries are supposed to be delicious too??? Nothing special. My 12 year old son ( who fell asleep in the car on the way there and always wakes up grouchy !!!) sat at the counter with his arms crossed and said he didn't want anything after looking at the menu. But we ordered the picky one a Chili cheese hot dog. Most picky eaters will still eat a hot dog. But man, that chili was ROUGH!! On first observation: Chili is extremely DARK! Is it burnt? Is it too much Chili powder? After tasting it = probably a little of both!! Definately an aquired taste to eat that crap. GROSS-A-ROOY! Talk about a waste of money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I only gave it 2 stars because we got shakes on the way out. I must say that the Coconut Cream shake was DE-FRIGGIN- LICIOUS...but one cannot live off of shakes alone. Want a good hamburger? Check out Bab's in Suisun, CA. Real, to the point and always delicious with a side of seasoned fries. Elephant Bar has a pretty screamin' Santa Barbara burger too, if you love avacado like I do. So Superburger is a SUPER NO-NO!!!!! Don't make any special trips out there, that's for sure!

GREAT BURGERS...JUICY AND COOKED TO MY LIKING. I live right down the street and have gone many times. My only suggestion is that they keep a better stock of buns. I went the last 2 times and they had run out of buns. They put my burger on a roll and that was just as good. I would recommend this place to burger lovers everywhere. It is a SMALL place so i would recommend getting your food to go or sit outside. ENJOY!!

This place is very good. Ive gotten the Montecito burger and St Helena Burgers. both were good. but then I got the KING Burger cause I wanted a bigger burger. this time around they didnt put much bbq sauce on it like they usually do and it was very bland tasting. I realized the secret to this place is the bbq sauce not the burger.. make sure they put lots of bbq sauce on it or it will be very bland. The place is way to expensive to. like 8 bucks for a burger. I would give this place a 5 star if there prices were cheaper and there burgers werent bland without the bbq sauce.

2014 Update: Do not show up at 8:01 and 30 seconds p.m. and expect to be able to get a to go order. Apparently the grill is shut off at 8:00 and 0 seconds exactly, although the "open" sign is not. Don't worry, however, Foster's across the street is happy to make you a burger until 10 p.m. any night of the week. 2011 Update: Decided to give it one more try. Came for dinner (avoided the lunch rush). Not crowded and we were able to find seats at the counter without a problem. The friendly waitress even brought some crayons and paper for my kids to color. The kids burgers were good and they liked the fries and shakes. I liked the burger, but wasn't prepared for it to be a BBQ sauce burger (which is apparently the default). Still, it was good and we all had a nice time. Not cheap, but fun for a burger splurge. Worth a trip if the staff is friendly. If I got attitude like the last time I came here, I would just head across the street to Fosters without a second thought. 2009 Update: Since it's under new ownership, decided to give it a try. Stopped by on a Monday around 1:15 in the afternoon (trying to avoid the lunch crowd). Since my wife and I had our son with us in a stroller, space could be tight. It was pretty full. There are two tables outside, but both were full. I asked the waitress if there were tables inside and she replied, "I don't have time to serve these people and look out for tables for you." Nuff said. We'll wait for new owners before trying this place again. No burger is worth that kind of attitude. Original Review: Gayle's Superburger! This place is good for a grease burger, fries and a shake. Sit at the counter and order it up 50's style. People say Gayle is grouchy if you take too long ordering, but I've always found the service friendly. Cheese burger, fries, milk shake and stumble home happy. It's not the greatest food in town, but it is what it is. Worth a try.

I had the king cheese ( 9 once patty, and double American cheese) an order of o-rings and a coke. The burger was above average and the bar-b -que sauce was a nice kick of flavor. Unfortunately the bill was $ 14.37, add a $2 tip and my lunch was the best part of a twenty dollar bill. That's just too much money for a burger lunch. It was good, but not that good!!!! If you don't mind the cost and sitting in very tight quarters, it's worth trying out.

Damn good spot worth every cent. Now a days it's hard to find a good burger place and this is it. Great food and milkshakes. Heck the milkshakes are made from REAL ice cream. Damn good.
